A liquid crystal sealing agent composition that is a one-component light and heat-curable resin composition containing: (1) a solid epoxy resin having a ring and ball method softening temperature of 40&#xb0; C. or above; (2) an acrylate monomer and/or a methacrylate monomer, or an oligomer thereof; (3) a thermoplastic polymer having a ring and ball method softening temperature of 50 to 120&#xb0; C., the thermoplastic polymer being obtained by copolymerizing an acrylate monomer and/or a methacrylate monomer with a monomer copolymerizable therewith; (4) a light-activated radical polymerization initiator; and (5) a latent epoxy curing agent. The light and heat curable liquid crystal sealing agent composition is employable in one drop fill, is excellent in properties of a cured product particularly after first-stage light curing, achieves stable cell gap after cell gap formation, permits prevention of contamination of the liquid crystal in second-stage heat curing, is excellent in curing properties in shaded area, and shows superior bonding reliability.

Liquid crystal sealing agent composition and manufacturing method of liquid crystal display panel using the same

The present invention provides a liquid crystal sealing composition and a liquid crystal display panel excellent in adhesion, moisture permeation resistance and heat resistance and superior for use in a sheet press heating bonding system. The liquid crystal sealing composition comprises (1) an alkoxysilyl group-containing modified epoxy resin obtained by de-alcohol condensation reaction of (a) an epoxy resin having at least one hydroxyl group in one molecule and (b) an alkoxysilyl group-containing compound, (2) a heat latent epoxy curing agent, (3) a filler having an average particle diameter of 0.1 to 10 &#x3bc;m, and if necessary (4) an epoxy resin having at least 1.2 epoxy groups on average in one molecule, (5) an aprotic solvent having a boiling point in the range of 140 to 220&#xb0; C., compatible with epoxy resin and inert to an epoxy group, and (6) other additives.

A thermosetting powder coating composition which comprises a resin composition (A) having a sea-island type microphase separation structure constituted of a continuous phase (a sea phase) comprising an acrylic copolymer and a dispersion phase (an island phase) comprising a thermoplastic elastomer and a curing agent (B) and in which the total amount of a thermosetting elastomer (a-2) constituting the dispersion phase is in the range of 0.5 to 20 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of the resin composition (A). This powder coating composition is excellent in chipping resistance, impact resistance, weathering resistance and appearance properties, and it is particularly suitable for the coating of vehicles.
