A connector includes a housing having a plurality of cavities, a seal member having a plurality of seal holes, a rear holder that holds the seal member between the housing and the rear holder, and a terminal fitting that is inserted into the cavity through the seal hole. The seal member includes a main body portion disposed on a side of the rear holder, and a plurality of protrusions protruding forward from the main body portion. Each of the seal holes has a shape penetrating in a front-rear direction from the main body portion to each of the protrusions. A space that allows displacement of the protrusions is provided between the housing and the seal member. The housing is provided with a restriction portion that is disposed between the plurality of the protrusions with a gap interposed therebetween.

Connector capable of preventing damage to a seal member

A lever-type connector includes: a first housing; a second housing capable of fitted to and removed from the first housing; a lever rotatably supported by the second housing for fitted to and removed the first housing and the second housing by a rotation operation; a support shaft provided on the second housing; a bearing portion provided on the lever and comprising a shaft sliding groove for sliding the support shaft; a cam follower provided on the lever; a cam groove provided on the first housing, the cam groove to which the cam follower is engageable; a guide protrusion provided on the second housing, and a guide groove provided on the lever, the guide groove to which the guide protrusion is engageable. When the first housing and the second housing are completely fitted by the rotation operation of the lever, the lever becomes slidable with respect to the second housing.

Lever-type connector

A female housing () is formed with a cam pin () having a projecting dimension larger than cam projections () of a moving plate (), and a lever () is formed with a cam groove () for accommodating the cam projections () and the cam pin () in the process of connecting/separating both housings (). An escaping space () communicates with the cam groove () and is configured to restrict entrance of the cam pin () by being shallower than the cam groove (). In the process of rotating the lever () from an initial position to a connection position in a state where the housings () are separated and the moving plate () is at a protecting position, the cam projections () are accommodated into the escaping space () while being kept out of contact with the lever ().

An electrical connector includes a frame, a connector main body received in the frame, a lock, a lock receiving part, and a releasing tool. The lock is formed on the frame or the connector main body, while the lock receiving part is formed on the other of the frame or the connector main body, corresponding with and engaging the lock. The releasing tool releases the lock that is engaged with the lock receiving part when the releasing tool is inserted the frame and the connector main body. The releasing tool disengages the lock and the lock receiving part when inserted in to the frame and connector main body, and then pushes the releasing tool receiving surface to separate the connector main body from the frame.

Electrical connector

An electrical connector that can provide stable contact between a signal transmission terminal and a short-circuit terminal even if the connector is downsized. The connector includes a main body having a plurality of terminal receiving cavities provided with lances by which signal transmission terminals are secured and a plurality of short-circuit terminal receiving cavities adjacent to the terminal receiving cavities for receiving short-circuit terminals. Each short-circuit terminal includes a bent part at a forward position and a contact at a rearward position. The main body further includes a window that is formed at a position to the rear of the lances corresponding to the contacts of the short-circuit terminals and through which the terminal receiving cavities and the short-circuit terminal receiving cavities communicate with each other. The contacts of the short-circuit terminals are in contact with the female terminals through the window.

A lever insertion hole () for inserting a lever () is provided in a female housing (). A rib () and a flexible lever-holding lock () are arranged on the inner wall (A) of the lever insertion hole (). The rib () enables the lever () to be inserted, through a key groove () axially provided in the outer peripheral surface of the lever (), into the female housing () only when the lever () is at a predetermined rotational position. The rib () and the lever-holding lock () are together in contact with a wall section () of a coming-out prevention groove (), provided in the lever (), to hold the lever () from coming out.

Lever-fitting type connector with rotatably insertable locking lever

A connector includes: a housing main body including a rib extending frontward; a front holder fitted into the housing main body from the front, and capable of moving from a temporary locking position to a permanent locking position, and the front holder including a through-hole into which the rib is inserted; means for temporarily locking the front holder; and means for permanently locking the front holder. The rib is long enough for a front end of the rib to agree with, or jut out from, a rear end surface of the front holder which is located rearward in an insertion direction of the front holder while the front holder is held in the temporary locking position. The housing main body includes bendable lances for locking their corresponding terminals inserted into the housing main body. The front holder includes lance pressing parts restricting the bends of the corresponding bendable lances.

Connector

In a waterproof connector, a mat seal and a rear grid are attached to a rear side of a connector housing. These mat seal and rear grid include terminal insertion openings and electric wire insertion openings, respectively, which communicate with terminal receiving chambers. Wire tubes are fitted to electric wires to which large female terminals are crimped, and are brought into elastically intimate contact with inner walls of large terminal insertion openings of the mat seal. Moreover, each of the wire tubes includes a protruding portion that protrudes rearward from the large terminal insertion opening of the mat seal and is located in the large electric wire insertion opening.

Waterproof connector

A waterproof connector, comprising a pair of male and female housings () engaged with each other. The waterproof connector also comprises a grommet () covering at least one of the housings () and a fastening member () inserted from the grommet () side into the pair of male and female housings () to connect them to each other. In addition, the grommet comprises a sealing part () having a predetermined length along the inserting direction of the fastening member () and formed integrally with a grommet body () at the outlet side end part () thereof.

A through-panel connector, comprising a female connector () and a male connector disposed on one side and the other side of panel () and fitted to each other through a mounting hole () formed in the panel (). The female connector () comprises a plurality of flexible holding ribs (). The holding ribs () are formed on the outer peripheral surface () of the female connector () opposed to the mounting hole inner peripheral surface () of the panel () so as to be extended along the inserting direction of the mounting hole () and separated from the outer peripheral surface () while being extended from the base end part () to the tip part () of the female connector () along the mounting hole inner peripheral surface (). The holding ribs () are biased and held on the mounting hole inner peripheral surface () with the female connector () fitted to the panel ().

Through-panel connector

A lever-fit connector, wherein a rotation prevention lock () preventing a lever () from being rotated when male and female connector housing are fitted (joined) to each other is installed in the inner wall (A) of a lever insert hole () in a female housing (). A rotation lock recessed part () in which the rotation lock part (D) of the rotation prevention lock () is engageably stored is formed in the peripheral surface of the lever (). The angle of the rotation lock part (D) is set so that the rotation lock part (D) is drawn to the lever () side in excessive rotation by bringing the rotation lock part (D) into contact with the side wall surface (B) of the rotation lock recessed part ().

Lever-fitting type connector

A lever type connector is provided with a lever assisting in fitting or detaching first and second connector housings thereof. A lever is fitted to the first connector housing. A plurality of projecting parts is provided in a circumference of the lever. A plurality of receiving parts is provided in the first connector housing to slidably engage with the projecting part. Engagement between the projecting and receiving parts prevents the lever from deformation and warpage in a rotating operation of the lever for the connecting operation. The projecting parts and the receiving parts are configured so that the projecting parts and the receiving parts are engaged only when the lever is positioned so that the fitting force is large in the rotating operation, and the projecting parts and the receiving parts are not engaged when the lever is positioned in another state in which the fitting force is small.

Lever type connector

A lever type connector of the present invention includes a connector housing, a cover, a lever rotatably mounted on the connector housing, and a snap tab mounted on the cover. During rotation of the lever from an unlocking position to a locking position, the snap tab is pressed by the lever and bent, and if the lever reaches the locking position, the snap tab is brought back to lock the lever. The maximum bent inward angle of the snap tab is set to be smaller than the outward inclination angle of the snap tab without being bent. It is possible to prevent contact between the snap tab and the electric wires. The electric wires are prevented from being damaged, and the operation failure of the snap tab is also avoided.

A front wall () is movable between a full locking position and a partial locking position on the front of a female housing (). When the front wall () is at the full locking position, mating tabs () can enter main portions () of the female terminal fittings () through tab insertion holes () of the front wall () for contacting resilient contacts () and an unlocking jig can be inserted into a mold-removal hole () of the female housing () through a jig insertion hole () of the front wall () to disengage a lock (). When the front wall () is at the partial locking position, detection probes () can be inserted into the jig insertion holes () of the front wall () for contacting detecting plates () offset from resilient contacts () in main portions of the female terminal fittings ().

Connector and a method of assembling it

A stabilizer () of a terminal fitting () is divided into a front stabilizer (A) and a rear stabilizer (B) and defining a small clearance therebetween. Thus, the smaller holes (A,B) are formed by the divided stabilizer (), and external matter is less likely to intrude.
