The first acquisition unit acquires biometric information of the subject at a timing when the biometric information synchronous scanning has been performed. The determination unit determines, as priority data, detection data that is a target for which data transfer will be preferentially performed among X-ray detection data acquired in the biometric information synchronous scanning based on the biometric information. The second acquisition unit acquires the priority data from a storage device that holds the detection data.

The processing circuitry is configured to set, based on the reference image, an imaging condition for use in scanning for the subject. The controller is configured to control the scanning based on the set imaging condition.

The X-ray CT apparatus sets a first imaging range within an imaging range for the helical scanning, sets at least one of a start range and an end range in the first imaging range as a boundary range, sets a first view number for use in the reconstruction processing for a non-boundary range other than the boundary range in the first imaging range, and sets a view number for use in the reconstruction processing for the boundary range to be smaller than the first view number.

The circuitry controls a voltage generator during non-helical scan to switch tube voltage, thereby causing an imaging to be performed separately with X-rays of a first energy and X-rays of a second energy. The circuitry performs image reconstruction based on the first and second projection data sets respectively, thereby generating first and second images respectively. The circuitry performs alignment processing to align the second image with the first image. The circuitry generates a third projection data set based on a processing result of the alignment processing. The circuitry performs transformation processing to transform the second and third projection data sets into projection data sets corresponding to reference materials. The circuitry performs image reconstruction based on the projection data sets after the transformation processing, thereby generating reference material images corresponding to reference materials.

The processing circuitry performs preprocessing on raw data corresponding to the CT image designated as the display object image, every time any of the CT images is designated as the display object image. The processing circuitry reconstructs the enlarged CT image using the preprocessed raw data, based on the enlargement instruction, when the processing circuitry receives the enlargement instruction.

A condition on the attribute of an image for generating multi-frame image data containing a plurality of frames of images per file from image data is stored beforehand. When image data is received, multi-frame image data is generated from the received image data based on incidental information contained in the image data and the condition stored beforehand. Then, the generated multi-frame image data is archived. When a request for an image is made by a certain terminal, an application functioning on the terminal is identified, and multi-frame image data appropriate for the application is sent from among the generated multi-frame image data.
