An outdoor unit for an air-conditioning apparatus includes a body frame having, in a side face, an air inlet from which outside air is suctioned, the body frame including a hanger-receiving portion in an upper part, the hanger-receiving portion including a beam-like supporting part; an outdoor heat exchanger provided inside the body frame and extending along the air inlet; a hanging portion engaging with the outdoor heat exchanger; and a connecting element connecting the hanger-receiving portion and the hanging portion to each other. The outdoor heat exchanger is supported by the hanger-receiving portion through the hanging portion and the connecting element.

An optical system, imaging device and high-resolution processing method precisely generate a high-resolution image by using image data with few pixels. The optical system images an optical image in an imaging unit, the imaged image is spatially discretized so as to be sampled and converted into an image signal, thereby being recorded in a recording unit. A timing at which the image is imaged by the imaging unit is recorded in an imaging timing recording unit. A weight coefficient for the image is calculated by a weight calculating unit by utilizing the timing information obtained by the imaging timing recording unit. A high-resolution processing unit generates a high-resolution image by using the weighted information of the image generated by the weight calculating unit.

An image selecting unit selects a basic image from a plurality of output images which are output from the image sensor, having different resolutions of two or more types switched by the resolution switching unit, at least including an image having a first resolution and an image having a second resolution higher than the first resolution. An image displacement estimating unit estimates a displacement between the basic image and another image. An optical system forms an optical image on an imager, and a read control block selects a read rule for the imager depending on a magnification addressed by a magnification address block. The imager transforms an optical image at an addressed area into electrical signals in compliance with the read rule. The read image signals are stored in n image memories, where n is the number of images necessary for ultra-resolution processing. Ultra-resolution processing is built up of a motion estimation block and a high-resolution image estimation block adapted to estimate image data having a high-resolution image sequence. A selector selects a basic image for motion estimation and an image that is estimated in terms of motion.
