A brush holding device includes a dielectric resin circuit board and at least one metal brush holder secured to the circuit board at its base portion. Each brush holder includes a receiving recess that receives a brush and a spring for urging the brush against a commutator. A side wall of the brush holder located at a radially outer side of the brush holder includes an engaging piece that resiliently engages against an inner peripheral surface of an outer peripheral wall of the circuit board.

Brush holding device capable of reducing noise

In a commutator of an armature of an electric motor, a plurality of segments are arranged on the outer peripheral surface of a commutator ring at equal angular intervals. The segments which are in the same phase and oppose with 180&deg; angular interval are connected through a conductive plate. Each conductive plate is spaced apart a predetermined distance from adjacent ones in the axial direction not to short, and molded within the commutator ring. Each of brushes is shaped to have a width which is sufficient to bridge over three segments. Alternatively, the commutator ring may be shaped to have a tapering protrusion part (,) and the same-phase segments may be directly connected by a shorting wire along the tapering protrusion part.

A slidable washer (30) has a cylindrical part and a plane part joined thereto. The cylindrical part is placed between an inner circumferential face of a wheel gear (24) and an outer circumferential face of a boss part (23) of a gear housing (22) in order to reduce the frictional force caused during sliding movement therebetween. Further, the plane part joined to the cylindrical part is placed between a side (24b) of the wheel gear (24) and a base (22a) of the gear housing (22) so that the sliding frictional force therebetween is reduced and the cylindrical part of the slidable washer (30) is prevented from inclining toward the axial direction of the boss part (23).

A wire type window regulator is provided wherein dislodging of a wire guide from a motor housing and damage to the motor housing and rewire guide can be prevented. In addition, the angle and length of guide portions of the wire guide are not restricted. The motor housing includes a drum casing wall internally containing a take-up drum. The wire guide has an attachment member filling a cutout portion of the drum casing wall and attaching the wire guide with the motor housing. A step is provided in the drum casing wall and a cooperating protruding portion is provided in the attachment member of the wire guide, thereby preventing the wire guide from being dislodged.

Wire type window regulator

A quarter window opening/closing apparatus in which a torsion coil spring is provided at a link-connecting portion where a second link is rotatably connected to a first link is provided. When the quarter window is in a state other than a fully closed or fully open state, the torsion coil spring urges the quarter window in its opening direction by means of the second link. Accordingly, the occurrence of rattling of the quarter window is prevented even when the quarter window is in a state other than fully closed or fully open.

Quarter window opening/closing apparatus

An automatic controller for use with a motor. A switch interconnects the motor and a power source for selectively establing an electrical connection therebetween. A relay coil is connected to the motor. When the motor is connected to the power source via the switch, the relay coil latches the switch in a steady connecting state. When increased current overdraw of the motor is sensed, a current-limiting thermistor limits or interrupts the current flow across the relay coil, to set the switch to a disconnect state and to cause the motor to stop.

Controller for automatically stopping motor in response to overcurrent

A vehicle window regulator displaces a window at a faster speed when the window is near its fully closed position than when the window is near its fully open position. The speed is controlled by the meshing of the peripheries of two gears, each periphery defining a varying radius about its axis of rotation. The gear peripheries can be of different shapes, such as circular eccentric, elliptical and logarithmically helical. One of the gears is driven by a constant speed electric motor.

Vehicle window regulator

A self-driving closure device for moving a closure member such as a window glass of a vehicle between an open position and a close position. The device has a motor movable together with the closure member. The motor has a pinion that meshes with a rack secured to the vehicle door or a rotary drum on which an intermediate portion of a wire secured to the door is wound, so that a thrusting force for driving the window glass between the open and close positions is generated as a reactional force as the pinion or the drum is rotated. A mechanism is provided between the motor and the window glass so as to absorb any offset between the direction of movement of the glass and the direction of movement of the motor, so as to ensure smooth movement of the window glass.
