A balloon catheter includes a flexible outer cylinder shaft, a holding member connected to a proximal end portion of the outer cylinder shaft, a sealing member that maintains liquid tightness incorporated in the holding member, a flexible inner cylinder shaft, a tube having a Rockwell hardness of R 115 or more, a flexural modulus of 3.0 to 4.5 GPa, and a thickness of 0.06 to 0.12 mm, a push-in member connected to a proximal end portion of the inner cylinder shaft, a pull-out prevention member connected to the push-in member, and a balloon composed of an elastic material and connected to each of the distal end portion of the outer cylinder shaft and the proximal end portion of the inner cylinder shaft, wherein the tube is inserted over the inner cylinder shaft over an area thereof except for a connecting portion between the balloon and the inner cylinder shaft.

Balloon catheter

A balloon ablation catheter includes a catheter shaft containing a reinforcement wire in a thick section; a balloon provided at an end of the catheter shaft; and a high-frequency electric current electrode arranged in the balloon; which balloon ablation catheter satisfies L&#x3e;t, wherein L represents the shortest distance from the surface of the reinforcement wire to the surface of the catheter shaft, and t represents the wall thickness of the thinnest portion of the balloon.

A filter device includes: a core member; a push member; first, second and third tubes; a first restriction member disposed on the first tube and configured to restrict a pushing movement of the third tube to the distal direction; a filter; a ring fixed to the opening; first and second wires, wherein the filter is configured in such a manner that the diameter of the opening is reduced by deformation of the shape of the ring, the deformation being caused by the first wires and the second wires when the push member fixed to the core member is pushed with the push member in contact with the second tube, and in such a manner that the diameter of the opening is expanded by restoration of the ring to the original shape, the restoration being caused by separating the push member fixed to the core member from the second tube.

Filter device

A filter device is capable of reliably capturing emboli and air bubbles and reliably removing the captured emboli out of the body. The filter device includes: a first tube; a second tube protruding from the first tube; a filter arranged such that the distal end side of the filter in the longitudinal direction forms an opening; a ring fixed to the opening; first wires protruding from the distal end side of the first tube in the longitudinal direction thereof; and second wires protruding from holes in the first tube and fixed to the ring; wherein the opening can be opened and closed in the form of a bag when the proximal end side of the filter in the longitudinal direction is defined as the bottom, and the opening can be closed by pulling the second tube towards the proximal end side in the longitudinal direction.

A treatment aiding device includes a flexible shaft; a filter; linear supporting members; an elastomer member composed of an elastomer in which a penetrating hole is formed, which elastomer member is arranged in the proximal side relative to the opening section of the filter such that the shaft penetrates the penetrating hole, wherein the outer diameter of the end face in which the penetrating hole is formed is larger than the outer diameter of the opening-section side of the filter when the filter is closed; and an outer tube in which a penetrating hole is formed, which outer tube is arranged in the proximal side relative to the opening section of the filter such that the shaft penetrates the penetrating hole in a state which allows movement of the shaft in the longitudinal direction; wherein the elastomer member is fixed in the distal side of the outer tube.

Endovascular treatment assistance tool

A balloon catheter includes an inner cylinder shaft having a small-diameter inner cylinder section in a tip side and a large-diameter inner cylinder section in a base-end side; an outer cylinder shaft with the inner cylinder shaft in its lumen; a balloon whose tip is fixed at a tip of the inner cylinder shaft, and whose base end is fixed at the tip of the outer cylinder shaft, wherein the outer cylinder shaft and the inner cylinder shaft slide over each other and cause a shape change between a normal balloon shape and an extended balloon shape; and a housing communicating with the lumen of the outer cylinder shaft, and having a small-diameter lumen in the tip side and a large-diameter lumen in the base-end side; wherein the housing has an insertion inlet for insertion of the inner cylinder shaft, and a liquid inlet/outlet.

An endovascular treatment aiding device is an endovascular treatment aiding device including a flexible shaft; a filter fixed to the shaft such that an opening section is formed in the proximal side, wherein a ring having elastic restoring force is fixed to the opening section, which filter is capable of being opened and closed in an umbrella-like manner, and is in a conical shape having a bottom formed by the ring when the filter is open; and a linear supporting member fixed to the ring and a part of the shaft such that they are connected to each other, which linear supporting member enables closing the filter by application of an external force to the proximal side; wherein coils formed with a radio-opaque material is/are wound around the ring; when the filter is closed, a plurality of mountains pointing toward the distal side and a plurality of valleys pointing toward the proximal side are alternately formed in the ring to form a shape in which the mountains are positioned close to each other, and the valleys are positioned close to each other; and the coils are arranged on the ring such that the coils contain the positions fixed by the supporting member on the ring, but do/does not contain the positions of the peaks of the mountains and the peaks of the valleys.

Endovascular treatment aid

A balloon ablation catheter achieves reduction in diameter of the balloon upon balloon contraction and increased reliability of the thermocouple temperature sensor, which balloon ablation catheter is less likely to be influenced by the heating liquid discharged into the balloon and able to control the balloon surface temperature with high accuracy. The balloon ablation catheter includes a shaft wherein a lumen is formed; a balloon wherein the lumen communicates with the inside thereof; and a high-frequency-current-applying electrode formed by coiling a high-frequency-power-supplying lead wire around the shaft while sandwiching a temperature sensor lead wire between the high-frequency-power-supplying lead wire and the shaft such that the temperature sensor lead wire is fixed along the longitudinal direction of the shaft; wherein a thermocouple thermosensor is formed at the point where the high-frequency-power-supplying lead wire and the temperature sensor lead wire constituting the high-frequency-current-applying electrode contact with each other for the first time as seen from the posterior end side in the longitudinal direction.

Ablation catheter with balloon

Provided is an ablation catheter system with a balloon which can improve the effect of therapy by ablation by eliminating variation in the surface temperature of a balloon in the ablation catheter with a balloon which cauterizes the tissue. An ablation catheter system with a balloon comprising a catheter shaft, a balloon fixed to the catheter shaft, a lumen which penetrates the catheter shaft in the direction of the long axis and communicates with the interior of the balloon, a heating electrode arranged in the balloon, a heating device which applies electrical energy to the heating electrode, and a vibration imparting device which imparts a vibration to the heating liquid by periodically repeating suction and ejection of the heating liquid from the lumen. Also provided is a stirring method for stirring the heating liquid by vibration wherein the vibration is imparted in such a manner that the value obtained by dividing the volume of the heating liquid being ejected toward the balloon by single ejection by the expansion volume of the balloon and then multiplying the quotient by 100 becomes 2-9.

Stirring method and ablation catheter system with balloon

The stirring efficiency of a heating liquid which is supplied to the balloon of a balloon-equipped ablation catheter is increased to quickly uniformize the surface temperature of the balloon, and air is prevented from remaining in the balloon-equipped ablation catheter to enhance the safety of treatment which uses the balloon-equipped ablation catheter. A shaft for a balloon-equipped ablation catheter, consisting of a single pipe, wherein the shaft has two lumens which communicate from the distal end to the proximal end of the shaft, a first lumen being a guide wire passage lumen which is provided in order to allow a guide wire to pass therethrough, the second lumen being a liquid supply lumen which is provided in order to supply liquid to the inside of the balloon of the balloon-equipped ablation catheter.

In order to perform balloon ablation and spot ablation by one ablation catheter without exchanging an ablation catheter body at the time of treatment by catheter ablation, an ablation catheter with a balloon is provided with a catheter shaft, a balloon which is mounted to the front end side in the longitudinal direction of the catheter shaft, a lumen which communicates with the balloon from the end face on the back end side in the abovementioned longitudinal direction, an in-balloon electrode and an in-balloon temperature sensor which are disposed in the balloon, and a front end electrode and a front end temperature sensor which are mounted in a front end region including the end face on the front end side in the abovementioned longitudinal direction.

Provided is a guide wire, wherein a deformed portion formed by bending and/or curving the guide wire is located in the region of 20-100 mm from the tip in the longitudinal direction of the guide wire, and in the deformed portion, the shortest distance between the central axis in the longitudinal direction of the guide wire and a point that is the farthest in the direction perpendicular to the central axis is longer than or equal to the minimum inside diameter of a lumen of a catheter shaft of an ablation catheter with a balloon used in combination with the guide wire, and shorter than or equal to 40 mm.
