A vehicle includes at least one processor, at least one memory, and a storage. The processor functions as a current-value acquirer that acquires a current value of a battery mounted on the vehicle, a current-value frequency distribution deriver that increments an acquisition count for one of classes, to which the current value belongs, and derives a current-value frequency distribution representing acquisition counts for the respective classes, and a current-value rate distribution deriver that transforms the acquisition counts to acquisition rates each indicating a rate of the each of the acquisition counts to a total of the acquisition counts and derives a current-value rate distribution representing the acquisition rates. The processor further functions as a traveling pattern rate deriver that derives on the basis of an actual current-value rate distribution and predetermined current-value rate distributions stored in the storage, traveling pattern rates indicating rates of the respective predetermined current-value rate distributions.

A degraded state estimation apparatus configured to estimate a degraded state of a battery mounted on a vehicle includes a detector, a storage, and an estimation processor. The detector detects state quantities including first, second, and third state quantities. The storage holds a maps of data including first and second maps of data. The first map of data indicates a degree of degradation of the battery based on the first and second state quantities. The second map of data indicates the degree of the degradation based on the second and third state quantities. The estimation processor estimates an amount of change in the degradation of the battery on the basis of the state quantities detected repetitively by the detector, the maps of data, and weighting coefficients each of which weights the degree of the degradation indicated by a corresponding one of the maps of data.

A charging connector connection determining method includes providing a locking pin at a charging inlet of an electric vehicle, in which the locking pin is configured to move to be in a first state that allows for attachment, to the charging inlet, of a charging connector provided at an end of a charging cable, a second state in which the locking pin is positioned more in an advancing direction than the first direction to be engaged with the charging connector, and a third state in which the locking pin is positioned more in the advancing direction than the second state and prevents the charging connector from being attached to the charging inlet, and determining presence of coupling of the charging connector to the charging inlet, by moving the locking pin in the advancing direction and detecting a state of the locking pin among the first, second, and third states.

A vehicle includes a charging lid, a water droplet detector, and a controller. The charging lid is configured to cover a charging port of an inlet in an openable and closable manner. The water droplet detector is configured to detect water droplets on the vehicle. The controller is configured to release a lock of the charging lid when an access key configured to wirelessly communicate with the vehicle and provide an instruction to lock or unlock a door of the vehicle is present near the vehicle or when an unlock condition for keeping the door unlocked is satisfied. The controller is configured to, in response to the water droplet detector detecting water droplets, lock the charging lid in a closed state, regardless of whether the unlock condition is satisfied.
