A vehicle headlamp includes a lamp unit having a bulb attaching portion into which a bulb is inserted and attached, an outer housing configured to engage with the lamp unit at a location behind the bulb attaching portion, an inner housing disposed inside the outer housing such that a clearance is provided in a radial direction between the outer housing and the inner housing and such that, relative to the outer housing, the inner housing is movable in an axial direction and is rotatable about an axis extending in the axial direction, and a spring disposed between the outer housing and the inner housing to bias the inner housing toward the bulb in the axial direction. When the outer housing is engaged with the lamp unit, the spring biases the inner housing such that a flange of the bulb is pressed against the bulb attaching portion.

Vehicle headlamp

A coil apparatus () including a winding (), a bobbin () around which the winding () is wound, and a terminal fitting () connected with the winding (). In this construction, the terminal fitting () is mounted on the bobbin (), and a connector () for connecting the terminal fitting () to an external connector is formed integrally with the bobbin (). The coil apparatus can be produced at a low cost because the connector () is formed integrally with the bobbin () around which the winding () is wound.

Coil apparatus

A busbar () has a plurality of straight portions () circumferentially arranged at intervals. Several such busbars () are tied at a plurality of circumferential spaced positions by connecting the straight positions () in parallel with one another. The, the busbars () can be positioned with high precision and will not be circumferentially displaced from each other. This can avoid the deviation of intervals between the tabs () and those between terminals () from correct ones.

Moulded coil and production method thereof

A group of upper side male terminal fittings,A and lower side male terminal fittings,B are secured to the upper and lower surfaces of a mount plate,formed as a separate piece by pressing projections,into mount holes,thereby forming a core member,A housing,is formed by insert molding using this core member,as a core material. Since insert molding can be performed with the outer surfaces of the male terminal fittings,A,,B opposite from those secured to the mount plate,exposed, only the thickness of the housing,is added at the outer surfaces of the male terminal fittings,A,,B. Thus, there can be obtained a connector having a small thickness T around the male terminal fittings,A,,B.

Connector producing method and a connector produced by insert molding

A connector can easily and reliably be checked to see whether the requisite minimum quantity of sealing compound has been injected. Tabs 14 of male terminal fittings 13 protrude from a base face of a fitting space 12. A sealing compound 20, consisting of epoxy resin or the like, is injected at the base portion of these tabs 14. A first step 15 and a second step 30 protrude into the space 12, the first step 15 being above the second step 30. After the sealing compound 20 is injected, the quantity injected is checked by observing the space 12 visually from above. If only the first step 15 is visible, the correct quantity of sealing compound 20 has been injected, if both the first step 15 and the second step 30 are visible, a quantity of the sealing compound 20 less than the minimum quantity has been injected.

Connector with sealant depth indicator

A group of upper side male terminal fittings 2A and lower side male terminal fittings 2B are secured to the upper and lower surfaces of a mount plate 8 formed as a separate piece by pressing projections 12 into mount holes 16, thereby forming a core member 7. A housing 1 is formed by insert molding using this core member 7 as a core material. Since insert molding can be performed with the outer surfaces of the male terminal fittings 2A, 2B opposite from those secured to the mount plate 8 exposed, only the thickness of the housing 1 is added at the outer surfaces of the male terminal fittings 2A, 2B. Thus, there can be obtained a connector having a small thickness T around the male terminal fittings 2A, 2B.

An installation structure can carry out a work of attaching a connector (1) to a fuel tank with one touch without using a particular equipment or requiring a great space. A holding sleeve (24) is secured to a lid plate (22) of the fuel tank with the sleeve projecting into an interior of the tank. The holding sleeve (24) is provided in its opposite outer peripheral positions with each of a pair of windows (30). An elastic clip (29) having a substantially U-shaped configuration is mounted on the holding sleeve (24) with each leg (33) of the clip (29) projecting into an interior of the sleeve (24) through each window (30). An inner connection portion (5) of the connector (1) is provided in its opposite outer peripheral position with each of a pair of engaging grooves (36). The portion (5) is also provided in its outer surface below each engaging groove (36) with an inclined guide face (38). When the portion (5) of the connector (1) is being inserted into the holding sleeve (24), the legs (33) are deflected outwardly by the guide faces (38). When the portion (5) is completely inserted in the sleeve (24), the legs (33) fit in the respective grooves (36) by their elastic recovery forces, thereby preventing the connector (1) from coming out of the lid plate (22).

Connector installation structure for fuel tank

A lower case (30), constituting a housing, has a terminal fitting insertion tube (35) supporting a terminal (42) of an electrical appliance (40). The insertion hole (35) allows the insertion of a terminal fitting (50) which is inserted from the exterior for direct contact with the terminal of the electrical appliance. Intermediate wiring is unnecessary.

Housing for an electrical device

A bulb socket for receiving a bulb which has a plus electrode and a minus electrode comprises a socket housing, a plus terminal and a minus terminal. The plus terminal is mounted in the socket housing, and includes a bulb-side plus terminal portion for electrically connecting with the plus electrode of the bulb and a feeder-side plus terminal portion for electrically connecting with an external plus terminal. The bulb-side plus terminal portion and the feeder-side plus terminal portion are disposed in a juxtaposed condition within the socket hosing. The minus terminal is mounted in the socket housing, and includes a bulb-side minus terminal portion for electrically connecting with the minus electrode of the bulb and a feeder-side minus terminal portion for electrically connecting with an external minus terminal. The bulb-side minus terminal portion and the feeder-side minus terminal portion are disposed in a juxtaposed condition within the socket hosing.
