A multilayer of light diffusers includes the light diffusers layered one on top of another, and an air layer between adjacent light diffusers. Each of the light diffusers contains a light diffusing agent in a resin matrix. An example of the resin matrix is an aromatic polycarbonate, and an example of the light diffusing agent is a silicone-based diffusing agent.

Liquid crystal display device and turning film for liquid crystal display device

A liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal panel, a light-guiding plate disposed on a back face of the liquid crystal panel, at least one LED light source along an end face of the light-guiding plate, and a turning film between the liquid crystal panel and the light-guiding plate. The turning film includes a substrate layer and a prism array on a back face of the substrate layer. A retardation value of the substrate layer is no less than 0 nm and no greater than 100 nm. In a planar view: a transmission axis of a back face side-polarizing plate of the liquid crystal panel is perpendicular to the end face of the light-guiding plate; ridge lines in the prism array are parallel to the end face of the light-guiding plate; and the transmission axis of the back face side-polarizing plate is perpendicular to the ridge lines.

A drum washing machine is provided. The drum washing machine includes: an outer tank arranged in a housing; a drum, which is arranged in the outer tank and capable of rotating about a horizontal shaft H; a rotating body, which is arranged at a rear part of the drum, a surface of the rotating body being provided with a projection; and a driving part, configured to drive the drum and the rotating body to coaxially rotate at different rotating speeds. The drum has a baffle arranged on an inner circumferential surface of the drum, which is used as a moving unit configured to move the washings in the drum towards the rotating body. The baffle has gathering surfaces for gathering the washings through a rotation of the drum. The gathering surfaces are inclined so that the side of the rotating body is lagged in a rotation direction of the drum.

The view angle-restricting sheet according to the present invention includes an optically functional layer which includes: a plurality of first light transmission sections that are rectangular in cross section and arranged in a multi-stripe fashion; and at least one second light transmission section that is/are rectangular in cross section and arranged between the first light transmission sections, at least one of the lateral face of the first light transmission section and the lateral face of the second light transmission section that face each other being provided as a light-scattering surface having a microstructure including fine protrusions. The arithmetic mean roughness (Ra) of the light-scattering surface is preferably no less than 1.5 &#x3bc;m and no greater than 4 &#x3bc;m. The ratio (Rz/Ra) of the ten-point mean roughness (Rz) to the arithmetic mean roughness (Ra) of the light-scattering surface is preferably no less than 1 and no greater than 20.

View angle-restricting sheet and flat panel display

The view angle-restricting sheet includes an optical function layer which includes: a plurality of first light transmission sections provided to protrude in a multi-stripe fashion; and a second light transmission section disposed around the plurality of first light transmission sections. Both sides of a top portion of the first light transmission section are formed to have a chamfer-like shape, and the first light transmission section exhibits an optical function distinct from an optical function of the second light transmission section. At least the top portion of the first light transmission section preferably has an inverted-U shaped vertical cross section. The first light transmission section preferably contains a resin matrix and a light diffusing agent contained in the matrix.

The view angle-restricting sheet includes an optically functional layer including: a plurality of first light transmission sections that are rectangular in cross section and arranged in a multi-stripe fashion; and one or more second light transmission section(s) that is/are each arranged between adjacent first light transmission sections. The first light transmission sections contain a light diffusing agent and a resin matrix. The proportion of the surface area occupied by the first light transmission sections with respect to the surface area of the optically functional layer is no less than 5% and no greater than 40%. The ratio (T/W) of the thickness (T) to the width (W) of the first light transmission section is preferably no less than 4 and no greater than 40. The average distance between adjacent first light transmission sections is preferably no less than 6 &#x3bc;m and no greater than 400 &#x3bc;m.
