An optical connector module () according to the present disclosure includes an optical waveguide board () and an optical connector () attached to the optical waveguide board (). The optical connector () includes a positioning target portion () that engages with the optical waveguide board (), and the optical connector () is positioned relative to the optical waveguide board () in a state in which the positioning target portion () is engaged with the optical waveguide board (). The optical waveguide board () includes an optical waveguide () including a first cladding () and a core () stacked on the first cladding (), the first cladding being stacked on a substrate () in a stacking direction perpendicular to the substrate (), and a positioning core () that is stacked on the first cladding () by using a material the same as a material of the core () and that engages with the positioning target portion (). The positioning core () protrudes further than the core () toward a side opposite to the substrate () in the stacking direction.

Optical connector module and method of manufacturing optical waveguide board

An optical connector module can contribute to a reduction in size while reducing coupling loss. An optical connector module () according to the present disclosure includes an optical transmission line () including cores () and a cladding (), an optical connector () including a first side surface (A) facing an end face of the cores () and configured to optically couple to the optical transmission line (), and a refractive index matching material () configured to adjust the refractive index of a space between the cores () and the first side surface (A). The refractive index matching material () is disposed between the first side surface (A) and the end face. A curved first lens portion () is provided on the first side surface (A) at a position opposite the cores ().

Provided is an optical path converting component capable of being positioned and fixed with less work steps and with a high degree of accuracy. The disclosed optical path converting component () configured to optically couple an optical input/output interface () disposed on a board and an optical transmission path () includes a base body () disposed on an optical path connecting the optical input/output interface () and the optical transmission path () and a mounting portion () configured to be mounted on a board (CB) by soldering.
