A metal plate for a terminal and a terminal in which cracks in a plating film due to bending or the like can be suppressed, and a terminal pair that is wear resistant against micro-sliding. The metal plate includes a base material and, a plating film that covers the entire surface of the base material. The plating film includes an intermediate Ag layer that is layered on the base material, and an Ag&#x2014;Sn alloy layer that is layered on the intermediate Ag layer and is exposed on the outermost surface. The terminal is made from the metal plate and has a protruding contact projecting from the surrounding region and is configured to come into contact with a corresponding terminal. The plating film is arranged at least on the protruding contact.

An electrical contact pair and a connector terminal pair that can reduce the amount of sliding wear in a contact portion. The electrical contact pair includes a first electrical contact, a second electrical contact, and a contact portion. The first electrical contact includes, above a first conductive base material, an Ag&#x2014;Sn alloy layer, and a first AG layer that is laminated on a surface of the Ag&#x2014;Sn alloy layer, and the first AG layer is exposed as the outermost surface. The second electrical contact includes a second AG layer above a second conductive base material, and the second AG layer is exposed as the outermost surface. The contact portion is obtained as a result of a surface of the first AG layer of the first electrical contact and a surface of the second AG layer of the second electrical contact being in contact with each other.

It is aimed to provide a plated member and a plated terminal for connector, to which a large current can be applied and which have both a low friction coefficient and high heat resistance, at low cost and provide a method for producing such a plated member and a method for producing such a plated terminal for connector. A silver-tin alloy layer for coating a surface of a base material made of copper or copper alloy and a silver coating layer for coating the silver-tin alloy layer and to be exposed on an outermost surface are simultaneously formed by heating to obtain a plated member after tin and silver plating layers are alternately laminated on the surface of the base material with the outermost surface formed by the silver plating layer.

An electric contact includes a bulge-shaped contact having a bulge shape, and a plate-shaped contact that has a plate shape and comes into electrical contact with an apex portion of the bulge-shaped contact. The bulge-shaped contact has a silver-tin alloy layer and a silver coating layer that coats the surface of the silver-tin alloy layer and is exposed at an outermost surface. The plate-shaped contact has a silver layer that does not have a silver-tin alloy layer directly below and is exposed at the outermost surface. Also, a connector terminal pair has such an electric contact in a contacting portion.

It is aimed to provide a connector terminal including a silver layer on a surface of an electrical contact portion, having a reduced coefficient of friction of a surface and excellent in practicality and productivity and provide a method for producing such a connector terminal. A coating layer made of a silver layer and a film formed by bringing the silver layer into contact with a solution containing thiol and benzotriazole is formed on a contact portion of a connector terminal to be electrically brought into contact with another electrically conductive member. A solvent of this solution is preferably water and the thiol is preferably octadecanethiol.
