The object of the present invention is to provide a photographing device, iris image input device and iris image input method capable of rapidly and accurately acquiring an iris pattern code of a person to be identified regardless of the height of the person to be identified. In order to achieve this object, with an iris image input device of the present invention, a portable photographing device is connected to a recognition unit and a monitor. The person to be identified that is to photograph their iris uses this iris input device in the following manner. The person to be identified takes the photographing device in one hand, lines up the photographing device with the eye with the iris to be photographed and photographs the iris. While doing this, because the iris image of the eye of the person to be identified photographed by the photographing device is displayed at a monitor of the iris image input device, the person to be identified can adjust the position of the photographing device while looking at the image with their other eye in such a manner that the focal point of the photographing device lines up with the eye being photographed. The iris image input device can therefore acquire iris pattern code for the person to be identified rapidly and accurately.

Photographing device, iris input device and iris image input method

An object of the invention is to provide a photographing apparatus capable of verifying with ease that a transaction processing unit has been wrongfully utilized, and at the same time, reducing an amount of image data for each case of transaction processing while lowering the cost thereof, and a monitoring system using the photographing apparatus. To this end, the photographing apparatus according to the invention includes an image forming element having an image forming face, a photographing field angle dividing arrangement for dividing a photographing field angle into photographing field angles A, B so as to correspond with a plurality of sites to be photographed, and forming an image of the respective sites to be photographed on the image forming element, and an image data generation arrangement for generating image data of the respective sites to be photographed on the basis of output of the image forming element. In this case, since the images of the plurality of the sites to be photographed can be formed on the image forming face of one image forming element, the plurality of the sites to be photographed can be simultaneously photographed with one unit of image pickup camera. It becomes therefore unnecessary to install a plurality of the image pickup camera in order to photograph the respective sites to be photographed.

A remote work supporting system includes a photographing device for photographing a work target machine that is to be worked on by a first operator, a first display for displaying an image of the target machine to the first operator, a second display for displaying the same image to a second operator, an operation device to be operated by the second operator, and an instruction displaying device for displaying contents of instructions in the first display based on operations made on the operation device. Since the instruction contents are displayed in the first display according to the operations made on the operation device by the second operator, the first and second operators can share considerable amount of information.

The present invention is an automatic focusing apparatus for automatically focusing on a subject in an image plane. The automatic focusing apparatus includes a focus lens for focusing on the subject, drive means for moving the focus lens, an image element for picking up image data from the subject through the focus lens, an image processor for extracting luminance signals of each pixel from the image data picked up by the image element, and a controller for computing contrast value under the luminance signals of each pixel extracted by the image processor, for computing moving quantity of the focus lens by using inverse number of the contrast value, and for controlling the drive means according to the moving quantity.

Apparatus and a method for automatically focusing on a subject

This invention provides an apparatus and a method for automatically verifying a designed semiconductor integrated circuit (LSI). The apparatus verifies a circuit generated by a generator for generating a circuit diagram of the whole LSI in accordance with the arrangement of basic cells which define a predetermined circuit unit. At least one of basic cells includes a verification symbol specifying a name and verification contents of a node to be verified. The apparatus analyzes a circuit diagram of the whole LSI generated in accordance with the arrangement having a cell including verification symbols to extract names and verification contents of the nodes to be verified, generates a verification pattern in accordance with the extracted node name and verification contents, executes a circuit simulation by using the verification pattern, analyzes the simulation result, and determines whether a the verified node is accepted or rejected.

Apparatus and method for automatically verifying a designed circuit

An image-input device includes a camera for capturing an iris pattern, and a personal computer for displaying the captured iris image. The computer has software for registering iris data and for comparing iris data. A half mirror is connected to the camera. The camera is mounted to the display of the computer. The half mirror, which transmits a visible light element and reflects near infrared light, is disposed in front of the display when the camera is connected to the computer. The iris of a user is captured by the camera while the user watches the display of the computer through the half mirror.

Image-input device

The present invention is a method and an apparatus for identifying an iris that can compare new identification code with registered identification code regardless of the slant of the face of a person to be identified because the identification code produced using a standard line does not influence the slant of the face of the person. The apparatus provides a photographing part, a standard line deriving part, an iris extracting part, a code producing part, a code registering part, and a comparison part. The photographing part photographs an area including both eyes. The standard line deriving part calculates a standard line passing through the center of both eyes. The iris extracting part extracts an iris area on the standard line by luminance distribution. The code producing part divides the iris area into a plurality of pieces, calculates a luminance for each piece and codes the luminance distribution of the pieces on the basis of the standard line. The comparison part compares the identification code produced by the code producing part with the identification code registered by the code registering part.
