A testing method using a micro flow path device configured for a test liquid containing a specimen to be brought into contact with a drug therein and for a test on an action of the drug on the specimen includes: preparing the micro flow path device including: a plurality of micro flow paths, first and second openings which are disposed at both ends of each of the plurality of micro flow paths and communicate with an outside, a storage unit which is provided in each of the plurality of micro flow paths and stores the drug, and a gas-permeable membrane covering the first opening; applying a fluid pressure higher than an external pressure to the test liquid through the second opening from a syringe pump connected to the second opening to pressure-feed the test liquid to the storage unit; and observing a target region set in the micro flow path.

A device for manipulating magnetic particles includes a gelled medium layer and liquid layers alternately stacked in a tubular container along a longitudinal direction of the container. A magnetic particle movement portion for moving magnetic particles exists along an inner wall surface of the container, and the magnetic particle movement portion extends along the longitudinal direction of the container. At a portion where the gelled medium layer is loaded, the cross-sectional shape of the container inner wall in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the container is non-circular, and the shape of the magnetic particle movement portion in the cross section is a curved shape or an angular shape.

Device for manipulating magnetic particles and method for manipulating magnetic particles

Upon blood collection with a disclosed blood collecting apparatus, a part of a flow path adjacent to a suction drain mechanism is filled with a liquid different from the blood. A gas is inserted in the flow path between the liquid with which the part of the flow path adjacent to the suction drain mechanism is filled and a target blood to be collected. The suction drain mechanism pushes and pulls the gas by pushing and pulling the liquid during a standby time between collection and next collection, thereby controlling movement of the target blood. The suction drain mechanism pushes and pulls the liquid and the gas during the standby time, whereby the target blood is continuously moved. This allows prevention of coagulation of the target blood in the flow path.

Liquid controlling method

A dispensing device for reducing the dead volume of a liquid sample includes a main channel connected to a sample inlet and a sample outlet, and branch channels connected to the main channel. Each branch channel is connected to a different liquid reservoir. High inflow-withstanding pressure sections are provided in the main channel between the branch channels and between the branch channel and the sample outlet. Each high inflow-withstanding pressure section has a channel inner wall forming a contact angle of 90&#xb0; or larger with a liquid sample. A liquid sample enters the main channel through the sample inlet, reaches a branch point between the first branch channel and the main channel, flows into the first branch channel and the liquid reservoir, and then passes through the high inflow-withstanding pressure section to a branch point between the next branch channel and the main channel.

Dispensing device

A suction drain device of a disclosed liquid collecting apparatus actively pushes and pulls blood. This achieves liquid collection at high speed even under decreased pressure depending on a physiological state of an animal. Moreover, the liquid collecting apparatus includes a first flow path and a second flow path having a given length. Accordingly, the flow path with a given length set in advance and thus a known volume allows collection of a given amount volume of blood without measuring a length and an amount of blood using a volume measuring device. Accordingly, no need of the measuring device allows reduction in size of the liquid collecting apparatus. Consequently, the liquid collecting apparatus can be installed adjacent to the animal to achieve reduction in dead volume. Moreover, blood is flown to a fourth flow path branched with a connecting terminal, and is also flown to the second flow path branched with a connecting terminal. The blood flown in the second flow path is collected at the highest priority. This obtains collection of fresh blood from a collecting source as a blood supply source.

Liquid collecting apparatus and liquid collecting method

A gas chromatograph includes a column module for independently adjusting the temperature of a separation column. The column module is held by an oven with the separation column being horizontal. The column module includes the separation column for separating a sample gas into components, a column accommodating member accommodating inside the separation column while surrounding the separation column by a heat insulating member, and including a gap between the separation column and the heat insulating member for air to flow along the separation column, and a heater, provided inside the column accommodating member, for heating the separation column by being in direct or indirect contact with the separation column. The column accommodating member includes an air inlet port for introducing external air into the gap between the separation column and the heat insulating member, and an air outlet port for exhausting air in the gap.

Gas chromatograph device

Micro droplets are accurately placed in a reaction well. The reaction well () is formed in one surface of a well base (). A channel base () is placed on the well base (). The channel base () has, in its surface joined to the well base (), a liquid introduction channel () and a reaction well air vent channel (). The channel base () also has a recess () formed opposite to the reaction well () and recessed upward from the upper surface of the liquid introduction channel (). When viewed from above, a shoulder part () of the recess () is placed near the connection part between the reaction well () and the liquid introduction channel () and is closer to the center of the reaction well () than a shoulder part () of the reaction well ().

Micro droplet operation device and reaction processing method using the same

A flow channel module comprises a flow channel plate, a flow channel connection block, and a pressing mechanism. The flow channel plate is provided with a main body and a protrusion section protruding in the circumferential direction from the peripheral edge of the main body, the protrusion section having a port communicating with an inner flow channel. The flow channel connection block is provided with a concave section for being engaged with the protrusion section and having inside a port facing surface for facing the port, and an outer flow channel connection section that is connected to the port facing surface by a flow channel. The pressing mechanism is configured to press the protrusion section inserted in the concave section and the port facing surface against each other so that the flow channel and the port are connected while maintaining air tightness or liquid tightness.

Flow channel module and chromatograph provided with the flow channel module

A gas chromatography device includes a sample injection part, a detector, a separation column, and a transfer line connecting between the sample injection part and the separation column and between the sample injection part and the detector. Furthermore, a column temperature adjustment part for adjusting the temperature of the separation column, and a line temperature adjustment part for adjusting the temperature of the transfer line are provided. The line temperature adjustment part is structured to include a heat block which includes a heating element and which is in contact with the transfer line from one side, and a holding member which presses the transfer line toward the heat block side by being in contact from the other side, and to sandwich the transfer line by the heat block and the holding member.

Gas chromatography device

A surface chemical treatment apparatus provided with: a first conduit having an opening at one end and communicating with a liquid supply means at the other end; a second conduit having at one end an opening that surrounds the opening of the first conduit and communicating with a liquid suction means at the other end; and a moving mechanism for moving the openings of the first and second conduits relative to the solid phase surface, so as to make a surface chemical treatment possible in a fine pattern by allowing the patterning solution to be dispensed through the opening of the first conduit while allowing the solution to be suctioned up together with the surrounding liquid phase or gas phase medium through the opening of the second conduit that surrounds the opening of the first conduit and, thus, preventing seepage of the solution in all directions.

Surface chemical treatment apparatus for drawing predetermined pattern by carrying out a chemical treatment

A low-OH-content quartz glass with an OH content equal to or lower than 5 ppm is used as a cylindrical tube () covering the surface of metallic plasma generation electrodes (and) for generating a low-frequency barrier discharge. It has been found that, in the low-frequency barrier discharge, hydrogen and oxygen originating from the OH contained in a dielectric material are released into plasma gas for a long period of time, constituting a primary cause of an increase in the baseline current. The use of a low-OH-content quartz glass dramatically lowers the baseline current and thereby improves the S/N ratio and the detection limit.

Discharge ionization current detector

A gas chromatography equipment includes a sample introducer, a detector, a column module, and an oven including a housing. A sub-space is provided in a projection section projecting downward from a portion of a bottom face of the housing communicates with a main space of the housing. A column module attaching section is provided outside the housing and below the main space. A fixed side face, which faces the column module attaching section, of the projection section serves as an attachment face for attaching the column module. The column module is attached to the housing in such a way that the main flat surface of the column module is horizontally positioned with an end face of the column module being the attachment face.

Plate-type column, temperature regulation system and gas chromatograph system

Disclosed herein is a reactor plate which prevents the entry of foreign matter from the outside and the pollution of a surrounding environment. A reactor plate () includes a reaction well (), a reaction well channel connected to the reaction well (), and reaction well air vent channels () and () connected to the reaction well (). The reaction well channel has a main channel (), a metering channel () branched off the main channel (), and an injection channel () of which one end is connected to the metering channel () and the other end is connected to the reaction well (). The main channel () and the reaction well air vent channel () can be hermetically sealed. The injection channel () is formed narrower than the metering channel () not so as to allow the passage of a liquid at a liquid introduction pressure applied to introduce the liquid into the main channel () and the metering channel () and at a purge pressure applied to purge the liquid from the main channel () but so as to allow the passage of the liquid at a pressure higher than the liquid introduction pressure and the purge pressure.

Reactor plate and reaction processing method

An aging treatment is performed by using cleaning gas obtained by mixing inert gas, as an impurity, to plasma gas. Plasma generation by dielectric-barrier discharge is performed until a predetermined period of time has elapsed by applying high AC voltage to an electrode while supplying the cleaning gas to a dielectric tube from a gas inlet.
