A compressor valve structure permits improvement in durability and volumetric efficiency of a compressor and limits power losses. The width of the base portion of each suction reed valve is shorter than the width of the valve flap. The valve base plate has support portions, receiving portions, main coupling portions, and auxiliary coupling portions. Each support portion receives a central area of corresponding one of the valve flaps. The receiving portion receives a distal area of the valve flap. The main coupling portion extends from the support portion and couples the support portion to the receiving portion. The auxiliary coupling portion extends from the support portion. The suction ports are formed through the valve base plate, while leaving the support portions, the receiving portions, the main coupling portions, and the auxiliary coupling portions.

An internal combustion engine with a supercharger comprises an internal combustion engine including a plurality of cylinders; an intake passage that supplies gas to the internal combustion engine; a turbocharger-type supercharger including a turbine portion having a plurality of exhaust gas introduction passages; and an exhaust passage including a plurality of connecting passages that connect the plurality of cylinders and the plurality of exhaust gas introduction passages, wherein exhaust gas discharged from the internal combustion engine flows through the exhaust passage. The internal combustion engine comprises a bridge passage that connects two or more of the plurality of connecting passages to each other; a branch passage connected to the bridge passage; and a first opening and closing device provided into the bridge passage to open and close the bridge passage.

Internal combustion engine with supercharger

A motor-driven compressor includes a compression unit having a compression chamber, a rotation shaft, an electric motor having a coil, a motor driving circuit, a housing, and a shaft support. The coil includes a first coil end, which is relatively close to the motor driving circuit, and a second coil end, which is relatively close to the compression unit. The housing includes a first area and a second area. A refrigerant passage communicates the first area with the second area. The shaft support includes a guide wall that guides the refrigerant to flow along the radial outer surface of the second coil end. The refrigerant guided by the guide wall is drawn into the compression chamber from the second area through a first suction passage. The first suction passage and the refrigerant passage are arranged at opposite sides of the rotation shaft.

Motor driven compressor

The present invention provides a variable displacement swash plate type compressor that reduces wear of cylinder bores and the amount of blow-by gas. Each piston of the compressor has a piston main body, which has a distal portion located at an end corresponding to the compression chamber. A tapering portion and an arcuate portion are formed in the distal portion. The arcuate portion is continuous with an end of the tapering portion that is closer to the compression chamber. The tapering portion and the arcuate portion each have a diameter that increases toward the skirt. The tapering portion has a tapering angle that is in a range from 0.45 degrees to 1.5 degrees. The distance between the distal end of the piston main body and a starting point of the tapering portion on an end closer to the skirt is set in a range from 1.5 mm to 5.0 mm.

Variable displacement swash plate type compressor

A compressor includes a discharge chamber, a compression chamber, a partition wall, and a discharge reed valve. The partition wall is arranged between the discharge chamber and the compression chamber and includes a fixing surface facing the discharge chamber. The partition wall includes a discharge port that communicates the discharge chamber and the compression chamber. The discharge reed valve includes a fixed portion, an intermediate portion, and a valve portion. The fixing surface includes a first groove portion, which extends around the discharge port, and a valve seat surface, which is arranged between the discharge port and the first groove portion. The first groove portion extends to a range overlapped with the intermediate portion. A part of the valve portion at a distal side does not close the first groove portion. The valve seat surface includes a receiving portion.

Compressor

A vehicle exhaust heat recovery system includes a vapor compression type refrigeration circuit, a boiler to which the refrigerant is introduced from the refrigeration circuit and heated, and an expander for generating motive power by expanding the heated refrigerant. The refrigerant circulates in the refrigeration circuit. The boiler heats the refrigerant introduced therein using exhaust heat generated by the vehicle. The refrigerant that has been subjected to expansion is recycled to the refrigeration circuit.

Vehicle exhaust heat recovery system

A compressor has a compression unit for compressing gas to a desired pressure, a drive shaft and a balancer. The drive shaft is connected to the compression unit for driving the compression unit. Imbalance on the drive shaft is generated due to movement of the compression unit. The balancer is mounted on the drive shaft and includes a main portion and adjustable portion for correcting the imbalance on the drive shaft. Preferably, at least one of the weight and the shape of the adjustable portion is adjustable.

A variable displacement compressor has a drive shaft, a rotor supported by the drive shaft, a drive plate supported by the drive shaft and a hinge mechanism located between the rotor and the drive plate. The hinge mechanism includes a cam, which is located on the rotor, and a guide portion, which is located on the drive plate. The cam has a cam surface, which has a predetermined profile. One of the cam surface and the guide portion slides against the other in accordance with inclination of the drive plate. The guide portion traces a path corresponding to the profile of the cam surface with respect to the cam. The path includes a first path corresponding to a small displacement region of the compressor and a second path corresponding to a large displacement region of the compressor. The profile of the cam surface is determined such that the first path and the second path bulge in a direction opposite to each other to compensate for fluctuation of a top dead center position of the piston.

Variable displacement compressor

A scroll type compressor has a housing, a fixed metal scroll member and a movable metal scroll member. The fixed and the movable scroll members each have a base plate and scroll wall extending therefrom. The fixed scroll member is fixed to the housing. The movable scroll member engages the fixed scroll member to trace an orbital motion when driven by a crank mechanism. The scroll members define compression chambers. Resin tip seals are respectively provided on distal ends of the scroll walls and slidably engage the metallic surfaces of the facing base plates. The tip seals seal the compression chambers. A resin coating layer is formed on a region of at least one of the end surfaces of the base plates that is not contacted by a tip seal.

A compressor has a compression unit, a drive motor, a motor housing and an outer cylinder. The compression unit compresses fluid. The drive motor drives the compression unit. The motor housing surrounds the drive motor. The outer cylinder is mounted on an outer circumferential side of the motor housing for defining a cooling jacket between the outer cylinder and the motor housing for cooling the drive motor by a fluid flowing in the cooling jacket. The outer cylinder is indirectly fixed to the motor housing by press-fitting.

A scroll type compressor includes a housing, a fixed scroll member, a movable scroll member, a discharge port, a cooling chamber and a gas cooler. The fixed scroll member is fixed to the housing. The movable scroll member is accommodated in the housing and defining a compression region with the fixed scroll member where gas is compressed by orbiting the movable scroll member relative to the fixed scroll member. The compressed gas is discharged from the compression region through the discharge port. The cooling chamber for cooling the compressed gas is disposed in the vicinity of the compression region in the housing. The gas cooler for passing the gas discharged from the discharge port extends along the cooling chamber.

Scroll type compressor

A scroll type compressor has a housing, a drive shaft, a fixed scroll member, a movable scroll member, a suction port and a discharge port. The drive shaft is rotatably supported by the housing. The fixed scroll member is fixed to the housing. The movable scroll member is accommodated in the housing, and the faces the fixed scroll member. The housing and the fixed scroll member define a cooling region. The fixed scroll member and the movable scroll member define a compression region. The suction port introduces gas into the compressor. The discharge port discharges the gas. Heat resistant means is disposed at least between the cooling region and the compression region. Heat resistance of the heat resistant means adjacent to the outermost compression region is greater than that of the heat resistant means adjacent to the innermost compression region.

An electromagnetic spring clutch may be utilized to engage a drive shaft of a auxiliary machine for vehicle and may include an input pulley rotatably supported by a housing of the auxiliary machine for vehicle . An electromagnetic coil may be disposed within the input pulley and an armature may be reversibly coupled to the input pulley by the electromagnetic coil . An output hub may transmit torque applied to the input pulley to the drive shaft . Preferably, the output hub is prevented from moving in an axial direction relative to the drive shaft and a clearance C is defined between the input pulley and the output hub . Preferably, the clearance C is prevented from increasing during operation. A coil spring may couple the armature to the output hub . The coil spring is preferably prevented from the intruding into the clearance C between the input pulley and the output hub

Electromagnetic spring clutches

Fluid heating devices may be utilized, for example, to heat a vehicle coolant and may include a rotor body rotatably supported within a rotor housing. A plurality of blades may be disposed on a circumferential surface of the rotor body and a channel may be defined between each two adjacent blades. Each channel has a base portion, an inner circumferential end and an outer circumferential end. Preferably, the inner circumferential end is longer than the outer circumferential end as measured from the base portion. Further, the outer circumferential ends of the channels may define wall portions and the wall portions are preferably shorter than the inner circumferential ends as measured from the base portions of the channels. In view of this design, it is not necessary to provide shields toward the outer circumferential ends of the channels.
