A liquid spray device includes a spray nozzle having at least one nozzle hole configured to spray a liquid, a pressurized liquid supply unit configured to pressurize a liquid and feed the pressurized liquid to the spray nozzle, and a controller configured to control an operation of the pressurized liquid supply unit such that the liquid to be sprayed from the nozzle hole flies in a state of splitting into droplets from a continuous flow. The nozzle hole has a hole diameter of 0.015 mm to 0.030 mm. The liquid has a viscosity of 0.6 mPa·s to 4.0 mPa·s. The controller controls a supply pressure of the pressurized liquid supply unit such that a velocity of the liquid to be sprayed from the nozzle hole is 10 m/s to 80 m/s, and that the number of droplets (droplets/s), which is the number of the droplets generated by the continuous flow splitting into the droplets per second, is in a range of 0.8×10to 9.0×10.

A medical apparatus system includes: a medical apparatus having an ejection unit which ejects a liquid; and a liquid supply device which supplies the liquid to the medical apparatus. A fluid supply apparatus which supplies fluid to a medical apparatus includes: a pump mechanism including a first pump capable of a suction operation of the fluid after a feeding operation of the fluid, and a second pump capable of a suction operation of the fluid during the feeding operation and a feeding operation of the fluid during the suction operation; a flow path which includes an elastic member and which communicates with the first pump and the second pump and supplies the fluid to the medical apparatus; and a flow path deforming unit which deforms a part of the flow path. The flow path deforming unit starts first deformation of the flow path before the first pump switches from the feeding operation to the suction operation, and completes the first deformation and starts second deformation of the flow path during the feeding operation by the second pump.

A pump chamber is connected to an outlet-side buffer chamber via an outlet channel, and pumps a liquid from the outlet-side buffer chamber. A pressure vibration generated within the pump chamber when the volume of the pump chamber is decreased includes various kinds of information relating to the operating states of the liquid feed pump, such as mixing of bubbles, pumping pressure, dissolved gas amount, and liquid feed amount. Thus, it is possible to detect the pressure vibration, thereby simply and easily detecting the various kinds of information relating to the operating states of the liquid feed pump.

A fluid feeding pump which varies a volume of a pump chamber and thus feeds a fluid out of the pump chamber, includes: a piezoelectric element which accumulates electric charges inside when a voltage is applied, and which deforms according to an amount of accumulated electric charges and thus increases or decreases the volume of the pump chamber; a drive unit which applies a drive signal with a waveform increasing to a predetermined maximum voltage and then decreasing, and thus drives the piezoelectric element; and an air bubble determining unit which detects a current flowing through the piezoelectric element within a predetermined period after the drive signal is applied to the piezoelectric element, and thus determines whether there are air bubbles in the pump chamber or not.
