The present invention provides an optical glass that has a high refractive index property and excels in a light transmittance property in the visible range and in resistance to devitrification. The optical glass contains from 3 to 18 mass % of SiO, from 5 to 11.5 mass % of BO, from 0 to 7 mass % of AlO, from 0 to 11 mass % of CaO, 1 mass % or less of ZnO, from 7 to 20 mass % of TiO, from 3 to 38 mass % of NbO, from 27 to 49.8 mass % of LaO, from 6 to 14 mass % of GdO, from 0 to 5 mass % of YO, less than 6 mass % of TaO, and 0.6 mass % or less of WO, with a ratio of BO/SiObeing from 1 to 2.

Optical glass

Provided is a LiO—AlO—SiO-based crystallized glass in which a yellowish tint due to TiO, FeOor so on is reduced. The LiO—AlO—SiO-based crystallized glass contains, in terms of % by mass, 40 to 90% SiO, 5 to 30% AlO, 1 to 10% LiO, 0 to 20% SnO, 1 to 20% ZrO, 0 to 10% MgO, 0 to 10% PO, and 0 to below 2% TiO.

Li2O—Al2O3—SiO2-based crystallized glass

Provided is a glass that is used in a phosphor-containing wavelength conversion material and from which can be produced a wavelength conversion member less degraded in characteristics of a phosphor owing to firing during production of the wavelength conversion member and having excellent weather resistance. The glass is for use in a wavelength conversion material and contains, in terms of % by mass, 30 to 75% SiO, 1 to 30% BO, over 4 to 20% AlO, 0.1 to 10% LiO, 0 to below 9% NaO+KO, and 0 to 10% MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO+ZnO.

Glass for use in wavelength conversion material, wavelength conversion material, wavelength conversion member, and light-emitting device

Provided is a resin composition for three-dimensional modeling that can accurately fabricate a three-dimensional modeled object capable of being matched in coefficient of thermal expansion with surrounding members when used as a component in various devices. The resin composition for three-dimensional modeling contains a curable resin and a glass filler, the glass filler having a coefficient of thermal expansion of 60&#xd7;10/&#xb0; C. or less at &#x2212;40 to 50&#xb0; C. and compositionally containing 90% by mass or less SiO.

Resin composition for three-dimensional forming

Provided is a resin composition for three-dimensional modeling to which inorganic filler particles of a sufficient amount can be added, without damaging transparency. The resin composition for three-dimensional modeling includes a curable resin and inorganic filler particles, in which the inorganic filler particles are light-transmitting particles of which a difference in refractive index nd to the curable resin after curing is &#xb1;0.02 or less, and a difference in Abbe number vd to the curable resin after curing is &#xb1;10 or less.

Resin composition for three-dimensional modeling, method for manufacturing three-dimensional modeled object, and inorganic filler particles

The invention provides an optical glass for press molding which can satisfy all of the following requirements: (1) it contains no environmentally undesirable components; (2) it can easily achieve a low glass transition point; (3) it has a high refractive index and high dispersion; (4) it can easily provide a glass having an excellent visible light transmittance; and (5) it has excellent resistance to devitrification during preparation of a preform. The optical glass for press molding has a refractive index nd of 1.925 or more, an Abbe's number &#x3bd;d of 10 to 30, and a glass composition, in % by mass, of 20 to 80% BiO, 10 to 30% BO, and 0 to 5.5% GeOand is substantially free of lead component, arsenic component, and F component.

Optical glass for mold press forming

Provided is an optical glass which can satisfy all of the following requirements: (1) it contains no environmentally undesirable components; (2) it can easily achieve a low glass transition point; (3) it has a high refractive index and high dispersion; (4) it can easily provide a glass having a superior visible light transmittance; and (5) it has superior resistance to devitrification during preparation of a preform. The optical glass has a refractive index nd of 2.0 or more, an Abbe's number &#x3bd;d of 20 or less, a glass transition point of 450&#xb0; C. or below, and a glass composition, in % by mass, of 70 to 90% BiO, 4 to 29.9% BO, 0.1 to 10% LiO+NaO+KO, and 0 to 2.5% SiO+AlOand is substantially free of lead component, arsenic component, F component, TeO, and GeO.

The optical communication device substrate according to the present invention includes one of ceramic and glass ceramic each having an average thermal expansion coefficient of &#x2212;55 to &#x2212;120&#xd7;10&#xb0;/C. in the temperature range of &#x2212;40 to +100&#xb0;C. and each containing one of a &#x3b2;-quartz solid solution and a &#x3b2;-eucryptite solid solution as a main crystal. In the substrate, maximum thermal expansion hysteresis that occurs when temperature rise from &#x2212;40&#xb0;C.to 100&#xb0;C. at a rate of 1&#xb0;C./min and temperature lowering from &#x2212;100&#xb0;C.to &#x2212;40&#xb0;C. at a rate of 1&#xb0;C./min are performed is less than 12 ppm.

Substrate for optical communication device, method for production thereof and optical communication device using the same

A material for temperature compensation consists of a sinter produced by baking any of crystalline powder, crystallized glass powder, and partially crystalline glass powder. The sinter has a negative coefficient of thermal expansion and contains anisotropic crystals in terms of thermal expansion.

A crystallized glass is provided. A &bgr;-quartz solid solution or a &bgr;-eucryptite solid solution is precipitated as a main crystal. A temperature compensating member which comprises a polycrystalline body containing, as a main crystal, one of &bgr;-quartz solid solution and &bgr;-eucryptite solid solution, and it has a value less than 3.52 &angst; as an interplanar spacing of the crystal planes giving a main peak in X-ray diffraction measurement, and has a negative coefficient of thermal expansion.

The article is produced by preparing flaky pieces and the smaller masses both of a SiO.sub.2 --Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 --CaO crystallizable glass, putting the former pieces on a bottom of a mold to form a flaky-piece layer, then putting the latter masses on the flaky-piece layer to form a small-mass layer, and heat treating the both layers at a temperature higher than a softening point of the crystallizable glass to fusion bond the pieces and masses together as well as crystallizing the glass.
