A control device for an automatic transmission includes a parking lock mechanism configured to lock/unlock rotation of a power transmission shaft by setting a parking rod at locked/unlocked position when the automatic transmission is in a parking range or in other ranges, a parking drive mechanism configured to set the parking rod at the unlocked position by supplying hydraulic pressure, a hydraulic pressure control valve configured to intercept the hydraulic pressure supply to the parking drive mechanism when power is supplied thereto, and supply the pressure when power is not supplied thereto, a regulating mechanism configured to regulate the movement of the parking rod at the locked position, and a controller configured to, when the parking rod is at the locked position, maintain supply of power to the valve, while an engine speed is higher than a given value, after power of a vehicle is turned OFF.

Control device for automatic transmission

A range determination device is applied to an automatic transmission provided with an input portion, an output portion, and a range switching mechanism which transmits rotation of the input portion to the output portion, and which is operative to switch the range of the automatic transmission between a forward range and a reverse range, in which directions of transmitting rotation from the input portion to the output portion are different from each other. The range determination device includes a rotational state detection unit which detects a rotational state of a predetermined rotary member included in the range switching mechanism, and a determination unit which determines that the forward range or the reverse range is attained on the basis of the rotational state of the rotary member detected by the rotational state detection unit.

A housing slidably guides a slider, which is driven in response to selection of a shift range of an automatic transmission. Upper and lateral sides of a movable range of the slider are covered with the housing. Thereby, application of hydraulic fluid and foreign objects to guide rails is limited to limit malfunction of the slider. Furthermore, even when the hydraulic fluid and foreign objects adhere to the guide rails, the hydraulic fluid and foreign objects can be collected at ends of the movable range of the slider and can be expelled to an outside of the housing through open ends of the housing.

Range sensing apparatus

There is provided, in one aspect of the present description, an automatic transmission. In one example, the automatic transmission comprises a transmission case, a valve body which is arranged in the transmission case, a control valve mechanism which controls oil pressures in parts of the automatic transmission and is installed in the valve body, and a solenoid valve which is attached to the valve body and is arranged at a first side of the valve body and in the transmission case. The automatic transmission further comprises an electronic control unit which controls the solenoid valve, is attached to the valve body, and is arranged at a second side of the valve body that is opposite to the first side across the valve body.

Control apparatus for automatic transmission

A crash can is made of aluminum-alloy casting and provided between a side frame extending in a vehicle longitudinal direction at a side portion of a vehicle and an end portion of a bumper reinforcement extending in a vehicle width direction. The crash can comprises a hollow tube portion extending in the vehicle longitudinal direction and having a cross-shaped section. At least one of an outwardly-projecting corner portion and an inwardly-projecting corner portion of the tube portion is formed by a groove such that a thickness thereof is thinner than that of the other portion of the tube portion. Accordingly, an impact which a vehicle body or a passenger may receive in a vehicle collision can be reduced by the crash can.
