A recess is formed at the center of a bumper absorber, provided on the vehicle outer side of a bumper reinforcement, so as to face forward, and an upper recess wall face of an upper absorber portion located on the upper side of the recess is inclined downward. If the subject vehicle is small in height and the amount of vertical overlap between the bumper absorber and the rear bumper of other vehicle (a barrier used in the narrow vertical overlap barrier test of the IIHS) is small, in the initial collision stage, the rear bumper of the other vehicle is guided by the inclined upper recess wall face to move relatively downward while the bumper of the subject vehicle moves relatively upward, preventing underride, increasing the amount of vertical overlap between the rear bumper of the other vehicle and the bumper absorber, and thus achieving reliable impact absorption.

Bumper structure

A seat may be obtained with good operability of plural operating members for operating plural adjustable units. A vehicle seat is provided with: a seat lifter, provided to a seat body for sitting on and adjustable by operation force transmitted from a first operating system; a reclining mechanism, provided to the seat body and adjustable by operation force transmitted from a second operating system; and an operation force imparting unit that is provided at a position where it is able to be operated by a seat occupant at a predetermined position on the seat body. The operation force imparting unit is able to independently take up a first state in which a lifter knob is operated and the seat lifter adjusted, and a second state in which the reclining lever is operated and the reclining mechanism adjusted.

Adjustable seat including operating members

A seat may be obtained with improved operability of plural adjustable units. A vehicle seatis provided with: a seat lifterprovided to a seat body for sitting on, adjustable by transmitted operation force; a reclining mechanismprovided to the seat body, adjustable by transmitted operation force; and an operation lever, to which operation force from operation by a seat occupant is input; and a switching mechanismthat is able to selectively switch between a first state in which operation force of the operation leveris able to be transmitted to the seat lifter, and a second state in which operation force of the operation leveris able to be transmitted to the reclining mechanism

A seat may be obtained with improved operability of plural adjustable units. A vehicle seatis provided with: a seat lifterprovided to a seat body that is for sitting on, and is adjusted by operation force transmitted from a first operating system; a reclining mechanismprovided to the seat body, that is adjusted by operation force transmitted from a second operating system; and an operation lever, imparting operation force for independently adjusting the reclining mechanismand the seat lifter. The operation leverimparts operation force to the seat lifterwhen operated by rotation along the seat up-down direction in the direction of arrow D and arrow E, and imparts operation force to the reclining mechanismwhen operated by rotation along the seat width direction in the direction of arrow F.

At a side portionof a seat back frame, not only does a rear first extending portionbend and extend from a frame side plate portiontoward a seat back inner side at an obtuse angle, but also, in a vicinity of a central portion of a rear flange portion, a rear second extending portionbends and extends from the rear first extending portionfurther toward the seat back inner side. Therefore, even if a relatively large load toward a rear of a vehicle acts on the seat back frame and compressive stress is generated at an intermediate portion of the rear flange portionin a heightwise direction of a seat back, it is difficult for cross-sectional collapsing to arise, and the load can be effectively supported at the frame side plate portion. There can be provided a seat back frame for a vehicle which can suppress an amount of bending deformation at the time of a rear collision, without leading to an increase in weight.

An ottoman device includes a first rotation link rotatably supported at a front end of a seat in order to support an ottoman main body, which is extended to a front direction of the seat or stored within the seat, in accordance with the rotation of the rotation link in a first direction and a second direction, and a lock device for prohibiting or allowing the rotation of the first rotation link, the lock device being attached to the first rotation link at a rotational center thereof.

A vehicle seat apparatus includes a first latch mechanism supported at a front portion of a seat cushion frame supporting a vehicle seat, a second latch mechanism supported at a rear portion of the seat cushion frame, a first striker mechanism provided on a vehicle floor and being engagable and disengagable relative to the first latch mechanism, a second striker mechanism provided on the vehicle floor and being engagable and disengagable relative to the second latch mechanism, an upper bracket provided at the first latch mechanism and fixed to the seat cushion frame, and a lower bracket provided at the first latch mechanism and rotatably supported at the upper bracket by a rotating shaft. The upper bracket includes a supporting portion, and the lower bracket moves to be disengaged from the first striker mechanism due to a contact of the supporting portion to the vehicle floor side while the vehicle seat being tumbled is reclined in the rear direction of the vehicle.
