A catalyst for purification of exhaust gas in which Pd-based nanoparticles and ceria nanoparticles are supported on a composite metal oxide support containing alumina, ceria, and zirconia, wherein a molar ratio (Ce/Pd) of Ce and Pd supported on the support is 1 to 8, a proximity α between Pd and Ce is 0.15 to 0.50, wherein the proximity α is determined, based on Pd and Ce distribution maps in an element mapping image of energy dispersive X-ray analysis, by the following formula (1): a Pd dispersity after a heat-resistance test at 1050° C. for 25 hours is 0.8% or more.

Catalyst for purification of exhaust gas and production method thereof

An object of the present disclosure is to provide an exhaust gas purification catalyst demonstrating superior storage of NOx contained in exhaust gas. The exhaust gas purification catalyst of the present disclosure has a substrate, a first catalyst layer containing a catalytic metal for NOx reduction and a NOx storage material and formed on the substrate, and a second catalyst layer containing a catalytic metal for NOx oxidation and formed on the first catalyst layer. In the exhaust gas purification catalyst of the present disclosure, the value obtained by dividing the volume of all large pores having a pore volume of 1000 &#x3bc;mor more by the total volume of all medium pores of having a pore volume of 10 &#x3bc;mto 1000 &#x3bc;min the second catalyst layer is 2.44 or less.

Exhaust gas purification catalyst

A catalyst support for purification of exhaust gas includes a porous composite metal oxide, the porous composite metal oxide containing alumina, ceria, and zirconia and having an alumina content ratio of from 5 to 80% by mass, wherein after calcination in the air at 1100&#xb0; C. for 5 hours, the porous composite metal oxide satisfies a condition such that standard deviations of content ratios (as at % unit) of aluminum, cerium and zirconium elements are each 19 or less with respect to 100 minute areas (with one minute area being 300 nm in length&#xd7;330 nm in width) of the porous composite metal oxide, the standard deviation being determined by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy using a scanning transmission electron microscope equipped with a spherical aberration corrector.

An apparatus for generating hydrogen gas in which hydrogen gas of a high purity is supplied to a hydrogen-utilizing device by using a decahydronaphthalene/naphthalene reaction. The apparatus includes a storage tank in which decahydronaphthalene is stored as a crude fuel, a reaction tank which has a catalyst and a heater for heating the catalyst and which causes dehydrogenation of decahydronaphthalene supplied from the storage tank to the heated catalyst, and a separation tank in which hydrogen-rich gas is separated out from naphthalene and hydrogen gas supplied from the reaction tank by using a hydrogen separation film and from which the separated hydrogen gas is discharged.

Apparatus for generating hydrogen gas

An exhaust gas purifying catalyst, for reducing nitrogen oxides and ammonia in an exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine, in an oxidizing atmosphere, is provided. The exhaust gas purifying catalyst comprises a first catalyst having zeolite carrying platinum and copper thereon.
