The stream data processing system has an input server which accumulates input stream data to be migrated, instructs a migration source and a migration destination to perform data migration, transfers accumulated data to the migration destination in response to an accumulated data transfer instruction, then stops transferring data to the migration source, and transfers subsequent data to the migration destination subsequently to the transfer of the accumulated data. The migration source migrates both a query and an intermediate value that has been produced as a result of completion of execution of the query on input data. A migration destination server reads the accumulated data and the subsequent data that are transferred from the input server, skips reading the portions of these transferred data corresponding to and preceding the migrated intermediate value, and discards the output that is transferred from the migration source and precedes the query execution results.

An input video signal is distributed to two links. The distributed video signals are coded by encoders in a spacewise or timewise shifted manner, and then, are transmitted over the transmission links. A data selector selects an output from the averaging processor when the plural links are operated normally; to the contrary, it selects a decoded output on the normal link in the case where an accident occurs in any one of the plural links. Specific methods for shifting the video signals spacewise or timewise include: a method for shifting a timing of intra-frame coding; a method for shifting the video signals on the links by several pixels or lines at least one of upward, downward, rightward and leftward; a method for disposing a sampling conversion filter in at least one of the links; and the like. According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a video transmission system using the plural links in which the transmission capacity of a backup link can be effectively used while high reliability of transmission can be ensured.

This invention aims to provide a method and apparatus for detecting a synchronization shift in which the synchronization shift between an original image and a reproduced image can be accurately detected even if noises are generated by a video codec or the like. An original image sent out from an image source has a sine wave for synchronization overwritten thereon in a frame memory. The image on which the sine wave has been overwritten is decoded in a codec and stored in another frame memory. The two images srored. in two frame memories are simultaneously started to be read out. From the image from the other frame memory, only the sine wave is extracted in a notch filter, subjected to an offset correction in an adder, and inputted to asynchronization shift detecting unit. The synchronization shift detecting unit uses the sine wave to detect line, frame and horizontal pixel shifts. Since a sine wave is used as a synchronization marker and only the sine wave is extracted in the notch filter, the synchronization shift can be accurately detected.

A waveform analysis unit divides digital data of a video signal stored in a Y memory and a C memory into small blocks, and conducts average value separation and normalization on each of the small blocks. A 1/f fluctuation measuring unit first derives a self-correlation function for each of the normalized small blocks, folds back the self-correlation function to the negative side, and conducts correction processing for making an average self-correlation function over a predetermined section equal to 0. Subsequently, the 1/f fluctuation measuring unit conducts Fourier transform on the corrected self-correlation function, derives a power spectrum, and conducts straight line approximation of the power spectrum. The 1/f fluctuation measuring unit then derives a fluctuation value of the power spectrum from the approximate straight line. An abnormality determination unit makes a determination on video quality abnormality on the basis of the variance value of the small block, coefficients of the approximate straight line derived by the straight line approximation, and the fluctuation value.

This invention provides a mode determination system for maximizing the coding efficiency by minimizing the amount of generated encoded information. An intra-frame picture signal X of 16 pels 16 lines is divided into four sub-blocks of 8 pels.times.8 lines by a DCT block dividing unit. A DCT block dispersion calculation unit calculates the dispersions of the four sub-blocks, and a nonlinear function transform unit transforms the dispersions to values for estimating amounts of generated encoded information. An adder unit adds together the four values for estimating amounts of generated encoded information and outputs the sum. On the other hand, a motion compensated predictive difference Y of 16 pels.times.16 lines undergoes a processing similar to said intra-frame picture signal X by a DCT block dividing unit, a DCT block dispersion calculation unit, a nonlinear function transform unit and an adder unit, and a value for estimating an amount of generated encoded information for the motion compensated predictive difference Y is outputted from the adder unit. An comparator unit outputs a signal for selecting a mode according to which of the two values for estimating amounts of generated encoded information is smaller.

Coding mode determination system

It is sought to provide a motion vector post-processor, which can improve motion vectors of blocks containing boundaries of objects in different movements to provide as visually satisfactory interpolated field quality as possible. Motion vectors generated in a motion estimator are stored in a memory, and their magnitudes are calculated in a magnitude calculator. Magnitude data is fed to an order statistics filter. The filter detects the serial number of a motion vector (for instance third motion vector) less than a magnitude at the center among a plurality of (for instance nine) input motion vectors and outputs corresponding serial number data to the memory. The memory outputs the vector corresponding to the input serial number data to a field interpolator. According to the invention, it is possible to provide a motion vector of an area containing small movement as motion vector of a block containing mixed movements.

An information amount estimator estimates the information amounts concerning the signals Y2 and Y4 and combination pattern. A minimum information amount determining unit determines the minimum one of the estimated information amounts. A sync controller 14 controls an amount of delay of a delay part 15 so that original video data entered from a video source 1 is synchronized with reproduced video data which is compressed and reproduced by a system to be evaluated. A first OT calculator 17 orthogonally transforms a reproduced image, a second OT calculator 21 orthogonally transforms an original image and a subtractor 19 obtains a difference value of the same order coefficients in one block. A WSNR calculator 22 weights the difference with a weighting function which varies with a position of a coefficient of orthogonally transformed data and a magnitude of an AC power in the block after orthogonal transform of the original image and subsequently obtains an average weighted S/N ratio of each video frame or a plurality of video frames. Finally, a subjective evaluation value calculator 23 calculates a subjective evaluation value (deterioration percentage) according to the average weighted S/N ratio. Consequently, the present invention enables to provide a video quality evaluating equipment for a reproduced image of a video signal subject to digital compression capable of economically evaluating the video quality in a short period of time.

An accurate motion vector is locally estimated in a moving image, and motion compensation is performed on the image in the immediately preceding frame based on the motion vector obtained. Next, a low pass filter is applied between the current frame and the immediately preceding frame that has been motion compensated. By controlling the filter coefficient in pixel units when the filter is applied, blurring of a moving image is suppressed to a minimum while noise is largely reduced.
