A sock includes a knitted fabric covering at least from a toe portion to a heel portion of a wearer. The knitted fabric, which is arranged in a first region covering at least sections, in a sole, corresponding to phalanges and metatarsal heads of the wearer, is formed by stitches that are knitted only by means of a covering yarn, which is a winding yarn wrapped around a core yarn.

Sock

A sock is provided having a first compression areawhich raises the compressive force in a wale direction from a position A behind the toe area of a sole portion of the sock to a position C which includes the boundary between an arch portion B and a heel portion, a second compression areaprovided on the periphery to raise the compressive force in a course direction at the position A behind the toe area, a third compression areaprovided on the periphery to raise the compressive force in a course direction at an ankle portion D, and a fourth compression areaprovided on the periphery to raise the compressive force in a course direction from the position C which includes the boundary between the arch portion B and the heel portionto a position E at the base of the instep portion. The advantageous effect of protecting and restoring the shape of the longitudinal plantar arch is produced by the various compression areas, thereby stabilizing the position of the various compression areas while the sock is worn.

A sock includes an air escape route that allows humid air to be expelled to the outside of a shoe. The sock may include a first rib area provided in a ground-touching area of a sole portion of the sock, the ribs being formed in a desired direction. A second rib area, in which ribs are formed in a wale direction, may also be provided in an instep portion of the sock. The ribs of the first and second rib areas may be knitted with alternating knitted pile and knitted mesh fabric. Humid air collecting in areas that do not touch the ground passes through the concave portions of the ribs of the first rib area, and is impelled toward the instep side. Air flowing to the instep side of the sock via the first rib area is expelled to the outside of the shoe via the second rib area.
