According to the present invention, a contact lens material being excellent in oxygen permeability and transparency, being capable of undergoing injection molding, having no water content and having flexibility is provided. The present invention also relates to a contact lens gel material having excellent oxygen permeability and transparency. Particularly, the present invention relates to a contact lens material comprising a polycarbonate resin derived from a bisphenol compound (A), a polysiloxane-substituted bisphenol compound (B) and a compound forming a carbonic acid ester.

Contact lens material

This invention provides an electrophotographic photoreceptor having improved resistance to soiling by a human body-derived substance and a high image stability. The electrophotographic photoreceptor comprises an electroconductie substrate and a photosensitive layer provided on the substrate and is characterized in that the photosensitive layer contains, as a binder resin, a polycarbonate resin comprising constituent units represented by the following formula (A) and the following formula (B), wherein Rto Rrepresent a hydrogen atom, a methyl group or the like; and X represents an alkylene group or the like. 3 to 50% by weight of the total constituent units is accounted for by the constituent units of formula (A) and the intrinsic viscosity is 0.3 to 2 dl/g. A long-life electrophotographic photosensitive body having excellent wear resistance and crack resistance can be obtained by using a polycarbonate resin composition, which is obtained by blending 0.01-5 parts by weight of a silicone-modified polyurethane per 100 parts by weight of a polycarbonate resin, as a binder for photosensitive layer (or in case when the photosensitive layer is of multilayer type, for at least an electron transport layer) of the electrophotographic photosensitive body. The silicone-modified polyurethane is obtained by reacting a diol component (a) represented by the general formula (I) below, an active hydrogen-containing polysiloxane compound (b), a polyisocyanate component (c) and, if necessary, a chain extender (d). Disclosed are a polycarbonate resin with high flowability having a viscosity average molecular weight (Mv) of 13,000 to 20,000 and containing below 1% by weight of low molecular weight carbonate compounds having the range of molecular weight 1,000 or below and at least 10% by weight of a polycarbonate oligomer having the range of molecular weight 2,000 to 5,000 and a process for producing the same.
