A scroll compressor comprises a fixed scroll having a spiral-shaped wall body, and a swiveling scroll which has a spiral-shaped wall body and revolves while linking together the two wall bodies; the wall bodies have steps, and side faces of two end plates have high and low bottom faces in correspondence with the steps; a tip seal is provided along a join edge which connects top edges on different sides of each step, and a mechanism is provided therebetween to prevent the tip seals from becoming removed from the join edges. Furthermore, in the same scroll compressor, tip seals are provided respectively in two grooves, and join paths are provided respectively between a high-pressure compression chamber, which is formed with the bottom faces as one section, and the two grooves; the pressure inside the high-pressure compression chamber is used as a pressing force for the tip seals.

Scroll compressor sealing

In a scroll compressor furnished with a fixed scroll and an orbiting scroll, and provided with steps on end plates of the fixed scroll and the orbiting scroll, formed such that the height thereof is high at a central side and low at an outer peripheral end side in a spiral direction of the walls, and with upper rims of the walls formed in a stepped shape corresponding to the steps, gaps are respectively provided between the end plates and upper rims of the walls, and a height of the gaps at room temperature is formed higher than a height under operating conditions. Moreover, the steps are provided at positions which exceeds a pitch angle of &pgr; (rad) along the spiral direction from the outer peripheral end. Furthermore, a concavity is formed in the end plate of the fixed scroll, and a discharge valve is provided in the concavity. Moreover, a plate which is freely movable in an orbit axis direction of the orbiting scroll is arranged, and a pressing device which presses the plate is provided. In addition, a shape of connecting wall faces which connect adjacent parts on one side face of the end plates, is determined by an envelope drawn by an orbit locus of a connecting rim which connects adjacent parts of the upper rims. Furthermore, there is provided a communication passage which communicates between two compression chambers which are developed by contact of the connecting rim and the connecting wall face.

Scroll compressor

A scroll compressor comprises a fixed scroll member and a revolving scroll member that engage with each other with their centrifugal walls, wherein the revolving scroll member is supported to revolve with respect to the fixed scroll member, but to avoid self-rotation thereof. The spiral-starting portion of the centrifugal wall comprises non-stepped portions formed along curves of &bgr; &prime; and &bgr; &prime; respectively, and a stepped portion formed along a curve &bgr; &prime; that provides a thickness increase area encompassed by its upper-side curved surface and its lower-side curved surface. The discharge port is located on the end board of the fixed scroll member to partly overlap with the thickness increase area by partly hollowing the lower side of the stepped portion with the prescribed height.

A scroll compressor including a fixed scroll having a spiral-shaped wall body, and a swiveling scroll which has a spiral-shaped wall body and revolves while linking together the two wall bodies. The wall bodies have steps, and side faces of two end plates have high and low bottom faces in correspondence with the steps. A tip seal is provided along a join edge which connects top edges on different sides of each step, and a mechanism is provided therebetween to prevent the tip seals from becoming removed from the join edges. Furthermore, in the same scroll compressor, tip seals are provided respectively in two grooves, and join paths are provided respectively between a high-pressure compression chamber, which is formed with the bottom faces as one section, and the two grooves. The pressure inside the high-pressure compression chamber is used as a pressing force for the tip seals.

A scroll compressor comprises a fixed scroll which is fixed in position and has a spiral wall body provided on one side surface of an end plate, and an orbiting scroll which has a spiral wall body provided on one side surface of an end plate, being supported by engaging of the wall bodies so as to orbit and revolve around the fixed scroll without rotation. When a length of the wall body which is further out than a first step portion which is provided on the end plate, is represented by H and a step difference of the first step portion is represented by L, L/H is 0.2 or less.

A scroll compressor for reducing fluid leakage at step portions of scroll members and improving the compression efficiency is disclosed. The reduction of leakage and a high compression efficiency can be realized without increasing the precision in the manufacture of the members. Between the engaged scroll members, a high-pressure space is formed close to the spiral center, and among points at which the spiral walls contact with each other immediately before the innermost closed space communicates with the high-pressure space, the innermost point is defined as a base point. The angular distance from the base point to the outer end of the spiral, measured along the inner-peripheral face of the spiral wall, is approximately 4&pgr; rad. The angular distance from the base point to the step portion of each end plate, measured along the inner-peripheral face of the spiral wall, is equal to or more than approximately 3&pgr; rad.

Scroll compressor having step portions for reducing leakage of fluid

A scroll compressor having a simple structure is disclosed, which effectively decreases the thrust load imposed on the revolving scroll without degrading the compression efficiency. The scroll compressor comprises a casing; a fixed scroll provided in the housing and comprising an end plate and a spiral protrusion built on one face of the end plate; and a revolving scroll provided in the casing and comprising an end plate and a spiral protrusion built on one face of the end plate, wherein the spiral protrusions of each scroll are engaged with each other so as to form a spiral compression chamber. In the above structure, an introduced working gas is compressed in the compression chamber and then discharged according to the revolution of the revolving scroll; a thrust member for thrust-supporting the end plate of the revolving scroll is provided at the back-face side of the end plate of the revolving scroll; a pressure pocket is formed in a face of one of the thrust member and the end plate of the revolving scroll, wherein said face faces the other of the thrust member and the end plate of the revolving scroll; and a high-pressure introduction hole for introducing a high-pressure fluid into the pressure pocket is provided at one of the thrust member side and the revolving scroll side.

Scroll compressor for introducing high-pressure fluid to thrust-face side so as to decrease thrust load imposed on revolving scroll

A scroll compressor having a simple structure is disclosed, which effectively decreases the thrust load imposed on the revolving scroll without degrading the compression efficiency. The scroll compressor includes a casing; a fixed scroll provided in the housing and comprising an end plate and a spiral protrusion built on one face of the end plate; and a revolving scroll provided in the casing and comprising an end plate and a spiral protrusion built on one face of the end plate, wherein the spiral protrusions of each scroll are engaged with each other so as to form a spiral compression chamber. In the above structure, an introduced working gas is compressed in the compression chamber and then discharged according to the revolution of the revolving scroll; a thrust member for thrust-supporting the end plate of the revolving scroll is provided at the back-face side of the end plate of the revolving scroll; a pressure pocket is formed in a face of one of the thrust member and the end plate of the revolving scroll, wherein the face faces the other of the thrust member and the end plate of the revolving scroll; and a high-pressure introduction hole for introducing a high-pressure fluid into the pressure pocket is provided at one of the thrust member side and the revolving scroll side.

The present invention has as an object providing a scroll compressor that transmits rotation of the eccentric axle side end plate of the orbiting scroll to the involute wrap side end plate with good efficiency, and sufficiently presses the involute wrap side end plate continuously against the fixed scroll without causing friction with the seal member; in order to attain this object, the present invention provides a scroll compressor providing a fixed scroll comprising an end plate and an involute wrap provided on one face of the end plate, and an orbiting scroll comprising and end plate, an engagement part provided on one face of the end plate and accommodating an eccentric axle therein, and an involute wrap provided on the other face of the end plate and forming a plurality of compression chambers by the combination with the involute wrap of the fixed scroll, wherein the end plate of the orbiting scroll is divided along the axial direction thereof into an involute wrap side end plate providing an involute wrap and an eccentric axle side end plate providing the engagement part, and furthermore, wherein a transmission mechanism is provided that permits movement of this involute wrap side end plate in the axial direction with respect to the eccentric axle side end plate but prevents movement in the radial or peripheral directions, and transmits the orbital movement of the eccentric axle side end plate to the involute wrap side end plate.

Scroll compressor having a divided orbiting scroll end plate

This compressor,is for compressing an introduced working gas to a predetermined pressure and exhausting by means of the rotation of a crank shaft,which is rotatively supported by a front case,of a housing,A by a main bearing,, and has a partition means,(labyrinth seal for example) which is provided between the main bearing and a shaft seal,which is provided at the outer side of the main bearing along the axial direction, and separating a space in which the shaft seal is provided from a low pressure chamber,of the housing to form a sealing chamber,, and a first lubricating agent supply passage,which is formed in the housing and is opened to the sealing chamber for supplying a lubricating agent to the sealing chamber. A part of the highly compressed lubricating agent which is supplied the sealing chamber can be leaked to the low pressure chamber via the partition means during the operation of said compressor.

Open type compressor

A scroll compressor with which there is no leakage of the working gas from the compression chamber is disclosed, in which deformation of each end plate of the fixed scroll and revolving scroll is prevented. The scroll compressor comprises a casing; a fixed scroll provided in the housing and comprising an end plate and a spiral protrusion built on one face of the end plate; and a revolving scroll provided in the casing and comprising an end plate and a spiral protrusion built on one face of the end plate, wherein the spiral protrusions of each scroll are engaged with each other so as to form a spiral compression chamber. In the structure, a working gas introduced in the casing is compressed in the compression chamber and then discharged according to the revolving operation of the revolving scroll; and given thickness T,of the end plate of the fixed scroll, thickness T,of the end plate of the revolving scroll, height H,of the spiral protrusion of the fixed scroll, and height H,of the spiral protrusion of the revolving scroll, the following condition is satisfied: T,>0.9H,, and T,>0.9H,.

Scroll compressor having end plates of fixed and revolving scrolls thicker than heights of spiral protrusions of the scrolls

An object of the present invention is to decrease the diameter of end plate of a fixed scroll and the diameter of orbiting locus circle of an orbiting scroll, by which the inside diameter of a housing is reduced, thereby the apparatus being made compact. The constitution is such that the center P of the end plate 211 of the fixed scroll 21 lies on the straight line D starting at the wrap end point T of the outermost end of the spiral wrap 212 and passing through the involute unrolled angle position C of the base circle A and at the position shifting one-half the orbiting radius a in the direction reverse to the outermost wrap end of the spiral wrap 212.
