The present disclosure provides a novel glass composition that has a low permittivity and is suitable for mass production. A glass composition provided satisfies, in wt %, for example, 40&#x2264;SiO&#x2264;60, 25&#x2264;BO&#x2264;45, 0&#x3c;AlO&#x2264;18, 0&#x3c;RO&#x2264;5, and 0&#x2264;RO&#x2264;12, and satisfies at least one of: i) SiO+BO&#x2265;80 and SiO+BO+AlO&#x2264;99.9; and ii) SiO+BO&#x2265;78, SiO+BO+AlO&#x2264;99.9, and 0&#x3c;RO&#x3c;10. Another glass composition provided includes SiO, BO, AlO, RO, and 3&#x3c;RO&#x3c;8 at the same contents as the above, and satisfies SiO+BO&#x2265;75 and SiO+BO+AlO&#x3c;97, where RO=LiO+NaO+KO and RO=MgO+CaO+SrO.

Glass composition, glass fiber, glass cloth, and method for producing glass fiber

The present disclosure provides a novel glass composition that has a low permittivity and is suitable for mass production. A glass composition provided satisfies, in wt %, for example, 40&#x2264;SiO&#x2264;60, 25&#x2264;BO&#x2264;45, 0&#x3c;AlO&#x2264;18, 0&#x3c;RO&#x2264;5, and 0&#x2264;RO&#x2264;12, and satisfies at least one of: i) SiO+BO&#x2265;80 and SiO+BO+AlO&#x2264;99.9; and ii) SiO+BO&#x2265;78, SiO+BO+AlO&#x2264;99.9, and 0&#x3c;RO&#x3c;10. Another glass composition provided includes SiO, BO, AlO, RO, and 3&#x3c;RO&#x3c;8 at the same contents as the above, and satisfies SiO+BO&#x2265;75 and SiO+BO+AlO&#x3c;97, where RO&#x2550;LiO+NaO+KO and RO&#x2550;MgO+CaO+SrO.

A glass composition of the present disclosure includes, in wt %, 50&#x2264;SiO&#x2264;56, 20&#x2264;BO&#x2264;30, 10&#x2264;AlO&#x2264;20, 3.5&#x2264;MgO+CaO&#x2264;10, and 0&#x2264;RO&#x2264;1.0, further includes FeO, and has a permittivity of less than 5.0 at a frequency of 1 MHz. R is at least one element selected from Li, Na, and K. The glass composition of the present disclosure is a low-permittivity glass composition with which the occurrence of fiber breakage during fiber forming can be reduced even when glass fibers to be formed have a small fiber diameter, and the occurrence of defects such as fiber breakage and fluffing during processing of the glass fibers can be reduced.

Glass composition, glass fibers, glass cloth, and method for producing glass fibers

Disclosed herein is a heat reflecting sandwich plate made up of a first and a second transparent plates bonded together with a transparent resin film. The first transparent plate is coated on the inside thereof with a heat reflecting film which is a laminate composed of two metal oxide layers, with a noble metal layer intervening between them. The noble metal layer has a sheet resistance of 4-10 ohms/square. The first and second metal oxide layers have thicknesses controlled such that their ratio is in the range of 1.1 to 1.6. The heat reflecting sandwich plate produces reflected rays which have a chromaticness specified by -1.ltoreq.a.ltoreq.1 and -1.ltoreq.b.ltoreq.1, where a and b denote the chromaticness indices of Hunter's color specification system, and has a visible light reflectivity lower than 10%. Because of these characteristic properties, the heat reflecting sandwich plate has high strength and safety, exhibits outstanding heat reflecting performance, and assumes almost no color and looks good despite its comparatively high visible light transmittance.
