This communications system for numerical control devices includes a numerical control device, a converter device, and a plurality of inverter devices. This communications system for numerical control devices comprises an application unit and a determination unit. The application unit applies identification information to the inverter devices. The determination unit determines the inverter device, among the plurality of inverter devices that have had identification information applied thereto, that will be used for communications with the numerical control device and the converter device. The numerical control device comprises a numerical control communications unit that communicates with the inverter device using a first transmission path. The converter device comprises a converter communications unit that communicates with the numerical control device via: a second transmission path different from the first transmission path; the inverter device determined by the determination unit; and the first transmission path.

A gas laser oscillator includes a plurality of discharge tube arrays, each discharge tube array including a plurality of electrical discharge tubes, a support mechanism supporting the plurality of discharge tube arrays, and an optical part optically connecting the plurality of discharge tube arrays. The support mechanism includes a discharge tube linking holder and an elastic member. The elastic member joins the discharge tube linking holder to a first support rod arranged at an upper side as seen in a direction of gravity.

Gas laser oscillator

A laser unit having a preparatory function for activating the unit and an activation method for the unit, capable of stabilizing the temperature of each component of the laser unit in the preparation stage when the laser unit is activated in a low-temperature or high-temperature environment, and then effectively judging completion of the preparation. During a period of time Ta from Tto T, a first trial of laser oscillation is performed. After a period of time Tb in which the laser is not oscillated, a second trial of laser oscillation from Tto T. Such an operation is repeated until a predetermined criterion is satisfied. Laser output values P, P, P, . . . , at the last moment in each trial of laser oscillation are recorded. Then, each difference between the laser outputs at the last moments of two neighboring or continuous trials, is calculated. When the difference is lower than a predetermined criterion value, the preparation of the laser unit is judged to be completed.

Laser unit having preparatory function for activating the unit and activation method for the unit

A gas laser oscillating unit having a gas junction part where gas flow may be stable, whereby a stable laser beam output and/or a laser beam that does not fluctuate very much may be achieved. The laser gas, flowing through first and second excitation parts, is introduced into the first and second tapered gas flow passages. After that, the two gas flows are mixed at or near the center point of a gas junction part and the mixed gas flows in a next flow passage. Then, one of the gas flows from the first excitation part is biased toward the &#x2212;X direction by a first biasing member arranged in the first gas flow passage, and the other gas flow from the second excitation part is biased toward the +X direction by a second biasing member arranged in the second gas flow passage.

Gas laser oscillating unit

A laser resonator allows internal optical mirrors to be cleaned easily and minimizes any contamination of the internal optical mirrors. The laser resonator has normally closed cleaning windows disposed immediately in front of output, rear, and folding mirrors for inserting a cleaning instrument therethrough for cleaning these mirrors. A gas inlet discharge tube holder has a discharge tube coupling which interconnects the spaces in parallel discharge tubes for transmitting a laser beam therethrough. The gas inlet discharge tube holder also has a gas flow bypass for bypassing a laser gas that circulates through the discharge tubes. The internal optical mirrors can be cleaned easily with a cleaning instrument inserted through the cleaning windows. As the internal optical mirrors do not need to be removed for cleaning, they and an external optical system are not required to be readjusted for alignment of their optical axes. Any contamination of the internal optical mirrors is minimized because no laser gas flow is caused in the discharge tube coupling.
