Elevator group supervisory control method and system for group supervisory control of a plurality of elevators serving a plurality of floors. The method and apparatus of the invention permits the inputting of qualitative requests (guidance), from the user, concerning elevator operation into the group supervisory control system. Qualitative requests concerning elevator operation are set in the form of guidance (or request) targets. The thus set request targets are converted into control targets for the elevators. Actual group supervisory control is executed using the control targets.

Plural kinds of the hall call allotment algorithm with different schemes are provided in advance, and the predetermined hall call allotment algorithm is selected therefrom by a reasoning operation, which is executed in accordance with a reasoning rule selected from among a plurality of reasoning rules empirically provided in advance on the basis of the desired control targets and an operating state of the elevators.

Group management control method and apparatus for an elevator system

A customer participatory elevator control system includes a device for setting and storing information necessary to operate a plurality of elevators on trial and a device for operating the elevators on the basis of the trial operation information. When the customer inputs into the control system a request which is unexpected to the elevator maker in the course of design of operation specifications, the control system enables the customer to carry out a trial of elevator call assignment control and guide control in accordance with the customer's request and changes the designed elevator operation specifications in accordance with results of the trial.

The invention relates to call registration wherein of a plurality of elevators an elevator which a user (passenger) wants to ride is called to the elevator hall of the user. A display is provided at an elevator hall for users. When a user depresses a hall calling button, a group supervisory controller determines and selects a suitable elevator, and causes the condition of the elevator to be displayed on the display in the form of sentences or the like. If the user is satisfied with the selected elevator, the hall calling button is not actuated again. If the user is dissatisfied with the selected elevator, the hall calling button is depressed again so that the controller selects another elevator for service to the user.

An elevator information device is disclosed. The elevator information device has displays located in each hall of a building, each of which can display the service state of the elevator (information on arrival of a car, number of passengers in the car, floors at which the car is about to stop, waiting time, position of the car) by means of pictures and characters, whereby waiting passengers can easily understand the condition of the elevator. As a result, the waiting passengers do not feed uncomfortable due to confusion, impatience or distrustfulness. Consequently, the waiting passengers can be guided smoothly.
