An X-ray CT scanner having an X-ray tube for radiating X-rays to a subject, an X-ray detector for detecting X-rays that have penetrated the subject, a circular plate-like rotary member with an opening for insertion of a subject and having the X-ray tube and the X-ray detector mounted thereon at opposing positions with respect to the opening, a support for rotatably supporting the rotary member, and a rotary drive for rotating the rotary member around the subject. The X-ray tube and the X-ray detector are mounted on a side surface of the rotary member, the side surface being a unit mounting surface for mounting a control unit relating to at least one of generation and detection of the X-rays.

To a supporting frame having an opening portion used to insert a table for mounting thereon an object under examination along a horizontal direction, a rotary member rotated around the opening portion is mounted; and a medical X-ray apparatus is provided with a first supporting member supported by the rotation member, for supporting an X-ray tube apparatus which irradiates an X-ray to an object under examination; a second supporting member for supporting a detection apparatus for detecting a transmission X-ray of the object under examination, the second supporting member being supported by the rotary member and being arranged opposite to the X-ray tube apparatus; a rotation control apparatus for controlling a rotation of the rotary member; a control apparatus for setting an irradiation angle of said X-ray with respect to a body axial direction of the object under examination to an arbitrary irradiation angle, and also for arranging the detection apparatus opposite to the X-ray tube apparatus in correspondence with the set arbitrary irradiation angle; and an image processing apparatus for processing an output signal from the detection apparatus so as to produce both a two-dimensional image and a three-dimensional image. While these control apparatus and rotation control apparatus are controlled, both the X-ray tube apparatus and the detection apparatus are rotated around the object under examination. Alternatively, X-ray fluoroscopic operation is carried out along an arbitrary irradiation angle. An output signal derived from the detection apparatus is processed by an image processing apparatus so as to produce a two-dimensional image and/or a three-dimensional image. Then, the produced images are displayed on a display apparatus.

Medical X-ray apparatus

The rotary member carrying the X-ray radiation unfit and the X-ray detection unit and rotated around a subject is used as the rotor. The rotor is provided with a rotor core and a plurality of conductors connected to the core. The stator has at least one set of stator core and stator winding, the at least one set of stator core and stator winding being adapted to clamp the rotor and arranged at opposing positions. A three-phase AC current is supplied to the stator winding to generate a rotating magnetic field to rotate the rotor and thereby rotate the rotary member at high speed. Because the scan time can be reduced, the X-ray CT scanner can scan such moving organs as heart.

A radiography apparatus is constituted by an image pickup unit including an X-ray source for irradiating cone shaped X-ray beams to a patient under examination and an image receptor disposed opposite the x-ray source for receiving x-ray image data of the patient by the irradiated cone shaped x-ray beam; a cylindrical ring which carries the image pickup unit, defines a sufficient space to receive the patient therein so as to permit relative positional change of the patient with respect to the image pickup unit and is supported so as to permit rotation around its center axis; a second arm, an image pickup unit; a first video image processing unit; a second video image processing unit; and a change-over device which changes-over the x-ray image data obtained from the image pickup unit either to the first video image processing unit or to the second video image processing unit, whereby a three-dimensional x-ray image of the patient is obtained depending on necessity during an IVR while temporarily resting or interrupting the IVR.

A stereotactic radiosurgery including a collimator adapted movably to an irradiation head, a driving apparatus for changing a position of the collimator while keeping a position relation in which a center line of a hole of the collimator coincides with a line connecting an apex of a radiation cone and a center portion of the focus, and a control apparatus for detecting a position error between an irradiating direction of the radiation and the center portion of the focus, driving the collimator driving apparatus and moving the collimator to a position at which the detected position error is offset.
