A power supply redundancy system includes a main battery that supplies power to a first load unit and a second load unit, a sub-storage that supplies power to at least the second load unit, a switching unit that switches a power supply path from the main battery and the sub-storage to the first load unit and the second load unit, a control board on which a switching control unit is mounted, the switching control unit for switching and controlling the switching unit, and a housing that accommodates at least the main battery, the sub-storage, and the switching unit. The control board is operable by receiving power supply from both the main battery and the sub-storage.

Power supply redundancy system

In a vehicle power-supply system, a backup power-supply device includes a low-voltage DC/DC converter, a backup battery, and switching mechanisms. A bidirectional switch unit is provided between a high-voltage DC/DC converter and a connecting point on a connecting wire and passes or interrupts a current flowing between the high-voltage DC/DC converter and the connecting point. A bidirectional switch unit is provided between the connecting point and a connecting point on a connecting wire and passes or interrupts a current flowing between the connecting point and the connecting point. A unidirectional switch unit is provided between the connecting point and the low-voltage DC/DC converter on the connecting wire and passes or interrupts a current flowing from the connecting point to the low-voltage DC/DC converter.

Vehicle power-supply system

In a vehicle power supply system, when a main power supply device is normal, a backup controller turns on a switch circuit and turns off a switch circuit to supply power from the main power supply device to a load unit LDand a load unit, and can travel a vehicle in a normal mode which is in a normal driving state. On the other hand, when the main power supply device is abnormal, the backup controller supplies power from the backup battery to the load unit and does not supply power from the backup battery to the load unit by turning on the switch circuit and turning off the switch circuit, and can travel the vehicle in the limit mode in which the functions are more limited than in the normal mode.

Vehicle power supply system

A vehicle power supply system includes a power supply path, and an ECU detaching a fault occurrence portion occurring in a part of the power supply path from the power supply path based on a set value lower than a lowest operation voltage of a load and a voltage related to the power supply path. The set value is set within a normal range of the voltage related to the power supply path. The power supply path includes a plurality of electrical connection units connected to the load and a plurality of connection wirings connecting each of the electrical connection units in a loop shape. In a case that a part of voltages related to each of the connection wirings is equal to or less than the set value, the control unit supplies power to the load via another part of the voltages related to each of the connection wirings.

A battery monitoring system includes a multiplexer, a self-diagnosis voltage generation circuit, a first voltage measuring circuit and a voltage measuring circuit which measure voltage signals in a first route and a second route inputted through the multiplexer, based on the self-diagnosis voltage generated from the self-diagnosis voltage generation circuit or based on the voltages of battery cells outputted from the input circuit, a comparator which compares measurement results of the first and second voltage measuring circuits, and a control unit which judges the presence/absence of a failure in a measuring route connected to the first voltage measuring circuit or the second voltage measuring circuit and the presence/absence of a failure of the first voltage measuring circuit itself or the second voltage measuring circuit itself, based on a comparison result by the comparator and which controls the input circuit, the multiplexer, the comparator, and the self-diagnosis voltage generation circuit.

Battery monitoring system

A voltage detecting apparatus includes: an assembled battery made of plural cells, a self-diagnostic circuit, and a measuring part for measuring the plural cells or measuring a diagnostic voltage generated by the self-diagnostic circuit. Electric power is supplied to the self-diagnostic circuit by a charge pump circuit. The self-diagnostic circuit includes plural circuit elements connected in series, and a current path connected to the measuring part and formed in correspondence with each of the plural circuit elements, and the measuring part includes a multiplexer for switching a state of connection between each of the current paths and the circuit network. The measuring part determines whether or not the circuit network is normal based on a voltage dividing ratio by the circuit element corresponding to the current path switched by the multiplexer.

Voltage detecting apparatus

An assembled-battery system, a semiconductor circuit, and a diagnostic method enables appropriate self-diagnosis of a measuring unit. An output value (A-B) output from an analog-to-digital converter through power-supply lines, a cell-selection switch, and a level shifter is summed with an output value (B-VSS) obtained by a directly input reference voltage B being output from the analog-to-digital converter. When the summed value is considered equal the reference voltage A&#x2014;the voltage VSS, it is diagnosed that an abnormality such as a breakdown has not occurred.

Assembled-battery system, semiconductor circuit, and diagnostic method

A battery monitoring system includes: an input circuit to which voltage signals of battery cells are inputted; a multiplexer selecting a battery cell for voltage detection from the battery cells, selecting voltage signals inputted from the input circuit, and outputting the selected voltage signals; first and a second voltage measuring circuits simultaneously measuring voltages based on the voltage signals in first and second routes outputted from the multiplexer; a comparator comparing measurement results by the first voltage measuring circuit and by the second voltage measuring circuit; and a control unit that judges, on a basis of a comparison result by the comparator, at least one of a voltage of each battery cell, an operation check of equalizing the voltages of the battery cells, a presence or absence of a disconnection of a detection line of each battery cell, and a presence or absence of a failure in the multiplexer.

A voltage detection device for detecting a voltage across both ends of each of plural unit batteries which are connected to each other in series. The voltage detection device includes lowpass filters which are connected to the respective unit batteries, a first voltage detector which detects a voltage across both ends of each of the unit batteries that is supplied via a corresponding lowpass filter, a second voltage detector which detects a voltage across both ends of each of the unit batteries that is supplied without passage through the corresponding lowpass filter, and a failure detector which detects whether the lowpass filter is failing by comparing a voltage detection value detected by the first voltage detector with a voltage detection value detected by the second voltage detector.

Voltage detection device and equalization device

A slave control device receives a communication signal from a master control device, and controls loads according to the received communication signal. A modulator superimposes the communication signal from the master control device on power source lines, and a demodulator demodulates the communication signal superimposed on the power source lines and supplies the demodulated communication signal to the slave control device. The modulator is provided on power source lines on a battery side, and the demodulator is provided on the power source lines on a load side. The modulator superimposes the communication signal on the power source lines which are on a side closer to the loads with respect to the modulator among the power source lines.

Communication system

The present invention appropriately detects line-breakages in a signal line related to a battery connected to a discharge circuit for discharging. Namely, an initialization operation produces a state in which a capacitor (C) is charged with the difference between the voltage of a signal line (Vn) and a self-threshold voltage (Vx), and a capacitor (C) is charged with the difference between the voltage of a signal line (Vn&#x2212;1) and a self-threshold voltage (Vx), in a comparison circuit (). In a comparison operation, a voltage adjusting section (ILn+1) produces a state in which line-breakage detection current is drawn out from a signal line (Ln), a signal line (Lc) is connected to the capacitors (C, C) and a voltage (DVn) is input to the capacitors (C, C). When an output OUT=L level, it is detected that there is no line-breakage, and when the output OUT=H level, it is detected that there is a line-breakage.

Battery monitoring system, semiconductor circuit, line-breakage detection program, and line-breakage detection method

An overheat protection device 10 that can perform the immediate resetting of the power cutoff control state or the power limit control state when the overheat state of the drive circuit (power MOSFET) is eliminated. A semiconductor switching apparatus and an intelligent power module 30 are also provided which use the overheat protection device 10. The overheat protection device 10 monitors the energized state of the drive circuit that drives the load 32; when it detects the overheat state of the drive circuit during the energized state, resets the energized state to limit or stop the driving of the load 32; holds the power limit control state or the power cutoff control state and monitors the overheat state in synchronism with the timing signal 102b having a predetermined cycle; and, when the absence of the overheat state is detected during the monitoring, generates the gate control signal 108a to reset the power limit control state or the power cutoff control state.

To turn on or off semiconductor switches based on the current-duration product of a current flowing through them, the device of the present invention detects an ambient temperature of the harness and, based on thus detected ambient temperature, corrects a detected current value to compare the current-duration product of thus corrected current value to the threshold data, so that if that product value equals or exceeds that threshold data value, the semiconductor switches are turned off, thus avoiding the affection due to the heat from the engines or the semiconductor switches to effectively prevent the harness from fuming.

Switching apparatus

A switching device which can reduce effectively noise that is generated from a charge pump used to generate a drive voltage for driving a plurality of semiconductor switches. In the switching device, the charge pump used to generate the drive voltage for operating the plurality of the semiconductor switches is shared in common by these semiconductor switches, and the plurality of the semiconductor switches can be driven by the drive voltage that is generated by the single charge pump. Due to this structure, the noise to be generated by the charge pump can be controlled to a minimum and the noise interfering into the power line can be removed by a single noise remove circuit, which makes it possible to simplify the structure of the switching device.
