Termite controlling composition is provided, which has an excellent residual effect and is suitable for applying to soil. The composition comprises (i) at least one pyrethroid compound selected from the group consisting of &agr;-cyano-3-phenoxybenzyl 2-(4-chlorophenyl)-3-methylbutyrate and 3-(2,2-dihalovinyl)-2,2-dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylic acid 3-phenoxybenzyl alcohol ester, the alcohol of which may have a cyano group at &agr;-position and (ii) N-(ethylhexyl)-bicyclo&lsqb;2.2.1&rsqb; hept-5-en-2,3-dicarboximide as active ingredient.

Termite-controlling agent and a controlling method thereof

A fabric protectant comprising a cellulosic material having a bulk density of 0.2 to 0.7 g/cm and a thickness of 0.1 to 4 mm and a composition containing as an active ingredient 2,3,5,6-tetrafluorobenzyl (&plus;)-1R,trans-2,2-dimethyl-3-(2,2-dichlorovinyl)cyclo-propanecarboxylate, said cellulosic material having the composition supported thereon or being impregnated with the composition, which maintains a stable attack-preventing effect over a long period of time.

Method for controlling termites

A wood preservative comprising a styryl triazole derivative of the formula [I] ##STR1## wherein X represents chlorine or hydrogen as an active ingredient. The present wood preservative has a wood-preservating efficacy equivalent to and remarkably improved light resistance as compared with a conventional organic iodine compound slightly inferior in light resistance, and therefore, exhibits a stabilized wood-preservating efficacy without causing discoloration even under irradiation with light.

Termites are prevented by applying thereto microencapsulated organophosphorus termite controlling composition in an amount of 5-100 g as an effective ingredient. The composition comprises an organophosphorus insecticidal compound encapsulated in a microcapsule formed of a polyurea or polyurethane wall and having an average particle diameter of not more than 80 .mu.m, a wall thickness of 0.1-1 .mu.m, and a value of the average particle diameter/wall thickness of 20-400.
