Fibrous cellulose highly capable of reinforcing resins, fibrous cellulose composite resins with high strength, and a method for preparing fibrous cellulose highly capable of reinforcing resins. The fibrous cellulose has an average fiber width of ≥0.1 μm, and has hydroxyl groups partially/fully substituted with carbamate groups at the substitution rate of ≥1.0 mmol/g, and has an average fiber length of >0.10 mm. This fibrous cellulose and a resin are contained in the composite resin. The method includes heat treating a cellulose raw material and urea or derivatives thereof to substitute part/all of the hydroxyl groups in the cellulose raw material with carbamate groups, and defibrating the raw material into an average fiber width of ≥0.1 μm, wherein the heat treating is performed so that the rate of carbamate-group-substitution is ≥1.0 mmol/g and an average fiber length of the material is >0.10 mm.

Fibrous cellulose, fibrous cellulose composite resin, and method for preparing fibrous cellulose

A cellulose fiber molded product having improved tensile elastic modulus and a method for manufacturing the molded product is provided. The cellulose fiber molded product contains cellulose fibers as the main component, in which the cellulose fibers contain pulp and defibrated fibers, and the defibrated fibers contain microfibrillated cellulose. The method for manufacturing the molded product includes preparing a cellulose fiber slurry using the pulp and the defibrated fibers, forming wet paper from the cellulose fiber slurry, and dehydrating, pressurizing, and heating the wet paper. The defibrated fibers include microfibrillated cellulose, or microfibrillated cellulose and cellulose nanofibers.

Cellulose fiber molded product and method for manufacturing the same

Provided are a polylactide-grafted cellulose nanofiber that is suitable as a molding material, and a production method thereof. A polylactide-grafted cellulose nanofiber includes grafted cellulose having a graft chain bonding to cellulose constituting a cellulose nanofiber, wherein the graft chain is a polylactide, and a ratio of an absorbance derived from C&#x2550;O of the polylactide to an absorbance derived from O&#x2014;H of the cellulose on an infrared absorption spectrum is no less than 0.01 and no greater than 1,000. In addition, a production method of a polylactide-grafted cellulose nanofiber includes carrying out graft polymerization of a lactide to cellulose constituting a cellulose nanofiber in the presence of an organic polymerization catalyst which includes an amine and a salt obtained by reacting the amine with an acid. As the organic polymerization catalyst, 4-dimethylaminopyridine and 4-dimethylaminopyridinium triflate are preferred.
