In the gateway device, the global address (GA) of the host table is set to the same value, and the GA and the local port (LP) of the transfer table are respectively set to the same value. In the IP packet analysis unit, the sorting unit analyzes the packet from the WEB client and sorts the destination of the packet, the redirection unit supplies the GA and the global port (GP) to the WEB client that has made a request by the packet according to a result of analysis to perform redirection, and the translation/transfer unit analyzes the packets transmitted through the sorting unit, translates the addresses (GA/LA: local address) and the ports (GP/LP) respectively with each other and transfers the translated packets, and then the procedure after connection establishment is repeated.

Communication device and communication method of the same

A gateway device includes a base processor which converts a signal input from an IP network to a signal which can be handled by the gateway device, and a home appliance control processor having a controller which converts the signal which can be handled by the gateway device to a control signal in compliance with the communications protocol of a home appliance to be controlled. The controller stores, on a table, information about the communications protocol, driver, controllable setting condition and status of respective appliances to be controlled in association with each other. The controller also includes a conversion functional block which converts information supplied to the control information of the communications protocol of the respective appliances to be controlled on the basis of the stored information.

There is provided a relay device which enables improved communication quality and cost-reduction, wherein the device carries out both real-time communications and non-real-time communications. A first communicator carries out packet communications with a first real-time communication device and a first non-real-time communication device, which are connected through an external network. A second communicator accommodates a second real-time communication device included in an internal network. A_third_communicator_accommodates_a second_non-real-time communication device included in the internal network. A connection_controller_controls_a_connection_of the_first_and_second real-time communication devices. A timing checker detects a timing before the connection between the first and second real-time communication_devices,_and_a_timing_after_the disconnection_between them by monitoring operations of the connection controller. A resource controller controls resources for real-time communications and those for non-real-time communications based on the timings detected by the timing checker.
