A vessel propulsion system includes an on-board network, a plurality of propulsion apparatuses provided on a hull and connected to the on-board network, and a network connector to connect a diagnosis device to the on-board network. Each of the propulsion apparatuses includes a controller configured or programmed to transmit operating state information showing an operating state of the respective propulsion apparatus to the diagnosis device via the network connector.

A vessel touch panel device mounted on a vessel includes a touch panel, a first instruction output that outputs a first instruction when a first operation instruction is input to the touch panel, a second instruction output that outputs a second instruction when a second operation instruction is input to the touch panel, a non-touch panel type activation operator that is provided separately from the touch panel, and a controller. The activation operator is operated by a user in order that a state of the vessel touch panel device is transferred from a first state where the first instruction output is inactive to a second state where the first instruction output is active. The controller performs activation control based on when a predetermined first condition is satisfied when in the first state, and deactivation control when in the second state a predetermined second condition is satisfied.

A vessel display device displays information on a vessel. The vessel display device includes an information acquirer that acquires the same type of information on a plurality of propulsion machines included in the vessel, a display information generator that generates, based on the information acquired by the information acquirer, display information which displays information on the plurality of propulsion machines on a single scale, and a display that displays the display information generated by the display information generator. The display information generator may generate display information which displays the same type of information on the plurality of propulsion machines in a different format on a single scale. The display information generator may generate display information which sequentially displays the same type of information on the plurality of propulsion machines on a single scale.

A remote control device for a vessel is installed in a vessel and remotely controls a vessel propulsion device of the vessel. The remote control device includes an operation member, an operation load applying mechanism, a control section, and an actuator. The operation member is supported rotatably around a rotation axis, and is operated by an operator to switch the shift position of a forward-reverse switching mechanism in the vessel propulsion device according to the operation angle of the operation member. The operation load applying mechanism applies an operation load to the operation member. The control section controls the operation load. The operation load applying mechanism includes an actuator that adjusts the operation load. The control section is arranged to control the actuator based on a vessel speed of the vessel.

Remote control device for vessel and remote control method for vessel propulsion device

A theft deterrent apparatus is used in a marine vessel which includes a propulsion device. The theft deterrent apparatus includes an authentication unit, a fault detection unit arranged to detect a fault of the authentication unit, and an operation control unit arranged to control operation of the propulsion device. When the authentication unit is normal, the operation control unit controls the operation of the propulsion device in accordance with an authentication result of the authentication unit. When a fault has occurred in the authentication unit, the operation control unit controls the operation of the propulsion device without referring to the authentication result of the authentication unit. When the authentication unit is normal, the operation control unit sets an operation mode of the propulsion device to an ordinary operation mode under a condition of success of authentication by the authentication unit and prohibits the operation of the propulsion device if the authentication by the authentication unit does not succeed. When a fault has occurred in the authentication unit, the operation control unit sets the operation mode of the propulsion device to an emergency operation mode in which a predetermined restriction is applied with respect to the ordinary operation mode.

A theft deterrent apparatus in a marine vessel including a propulsion device having an engine coupled to a starter and a power generator, includes an authentication unit arranged to operate by receiving power from a battery that is arranged to supply power to the starter and accumulate power generated by the power generator, an operation control unit arranged to allow operation of the propulsion device if authentication by the authentication unit does succeed and prohibit operation of the propulsion device if authentication by the authentication unit does not succeed, a fault detection unit arranged to detect a fault of the authentication unit, and a fault detection control unit arranged to make a provisional fault judgment when the fault detection unit detects the fault of the authentication unit before completion of engine starting by the starter, and then make the fault detection unit perform the fault detection again after the completion of engine starting by the starter.

In engine temperature display device for a watercraft, an engine temperature data value is calculated based on a detection signal of a temperature of an engine of an outboard motor. The engine temperature data value is sent to an engine state display device installed in a watercraft by a LAN. A control portion of the engine state display device computes the engine temperature data value based on a plurality of threshold temperatures of a standard engine model stored in a nonvolatile memory, and converts the data value into a display data for indicating a temperature level among a plurality of temperature levels. The display data is displayed on a display device on the watercraft. An engine temperature data value calculating and sending device computes using a plurality of threshold values on an engine block wall temperature specific to an engine, and sends the appropriately converted engine temperature data value. The engine state display device for the watercraft propulsion unit can display an appropriate temperature level of the engine coolant temperature indicated for a model with higher engine coolant temperatures.

A marine vessel control apparatus is arranged to start and stop engines that are respectively provided in multiple propulsion devices. The marine vessel control apparatus includes multiple individual start/stop switches arranged to correspond to the respective multiple propulsion devices and arranged to be operated by an operator to individually start and stop the engines in the respective multiple propulsion devices, an all-device start/stop switch arranged to be operated by the operator to collectively start and stop the engines in the multiple propulsion devices, an operating state acquiring unit arranged to acquire operating states of the engines in the respective multiple propulsion devices, and a control unit. The control unit includes multiple input ports corresponding to the respective multiple individual start/stop switches. Each of the input ports is connected with the corresponding individual start/stop switch. All of the input ports are connected commonly with the all-device start/stop switch. The control unit is arranged and programmed to control the start and stop of the engines in the multiple propulsion devices according to an input pattern to the multiple input ports and the operating states acquired by the operating state acquiring unit.

A marine vessel propulsion system includes a plurality of propulsion devices, each including a motor and a propeller rotated by the motor. The system further includes a common electric power supply switch arranged to be operated by an operator to turn on and off electric power supplies of the plurality of propulsion devices all at once, an electric power supply control unit arranged to put the electric power supplies of the respective propulsion devices in an on state all at once when the common electric power supply switch is turned on and to put the electric power supplies of the respective propulsion devices in an off state all at once when the common electric power supply switch is turned off, an abnormal state detection unit arranged to detect an abnormal state of each propulsion device, and a power transmission cutoff unit, which is arranged to, when an abnormal state of any of the propulsion devices is detected by the abnormal state detection unit, cut off transmission of power between the motor and the propeller of the propulsion device for which the abnormal state is detected.

A theft deterrent apparatus in a marine vessel having a propulsion device includes a key unit arranged to transmit a user authentication code, a first authentication unit disposed apart from the propulsion device, a second authentication unit, and an operation control unit disposed in the propulsion device. The first authentication unit is arranged to receive the user authentication code transmitted by the key unit, execute an authentication process on the user authentication code, and generate a unit authentication code. The second authentication unit is arranged to receive the unit authentication code generated by the first authentication unit and execute an authentication process on the unit authentication code. The operation control unit is arranged to allow operation of the propulsion device if authentication by the second authentication unit does succeed, and prohibit operation of the propulsion device if the authentication by the second authentication unit does not succeed.

A marine vessel power supply system supplies power to a plurality of propulsion devices each provided with an engine. The system includes a plurality of switching units arranged to turn on and off power supplies to the propulsion devices individually, an operation judgment unit arranged to judge whether the engine of each propulsion device is in an operating state or in a stopped state, and a power supply control unit arranged to turn off a switching unit of the plurality of switching units, when a switching unit is in the ON state and if the engine of the propulsion device corresponding to the switching unit is in a stopped state for not less than a predetermined time.

In a fuel supply amount control system, during a period of engine startup from the time when a crankshaft starts to rotate by a starter motor to the time when the crankshaft stably rotates by fuel combustion, a fuel supply amount is controlled independently before and after a cylinder stroke determination. This enables determination of the fuel supply amount independently before and after the cylinder stroke determination. Accordingly, the required fuel amounts are provided respectively before and after the cylinder stroke determination. As a result, even if the required fuel amounts are different before and after the cylinder stroke determination, engine startup can be achieved in a short time.
