Process model merging receives data representative of a first model that models a first process and a second model that models a second process, and determines, based on the data and a predetermined plurality of basic model manipulation operations, atomic differences in the second model relative to the first model. Compound differences are determined in the second model relative to the first model. A user is informed of the atomic differences and the compound differences. The user is allowed to select a set of the plurality of basic model manipulation operations. A modified first model is obtained by applying the selected set of basic model manipulation operations to the first model.

Process model merging

A connected directed graphical representation of a process model that includes a plurality of process nodes and interconnections between the process nodes of the process model is displayed. A user selection of a subset of the process nodes of the displayed connected directed graphical representation of the process model is received. A process scope definition represented as at least one begin-end node pair is computed. The at least one begin-end node pair is usable to identify all selected nodes and interconnection path links that are reachable in a traversal from a begin node to an end node of each of the at least one begin-end node pair of the received user selection of the subset of the process nodes. The computed process scope definition is stored.

Node-pair process scope definition and scope selection computation

A previously-computed scope definition represented as at least one begin-end node pair is obtained. The at least one begin-end node pair is usable to identify all nodes and interconnection path links that are reachable in a traversal from a begin node to an end node of each of the at least one begin-end node pair of a selection of a connected directed graphical representation of a process model. A change to the process model relative to the previously-computed scope definition is identified. A type of tooling environment used to change the process model is determined. The tooling environment includes one of a fully-integrated tooling environment and a componentized tool chain tooling environment. The previously-computed scope definition is adapted into an updated process scope definition based upon the identified at least one change to the process model relative to the previously-computed scope definition and the determined type of tooling environment.

Node-pair process scope definition adaptation

A method of synchronizing artifacts of a first domain with artifacts of a second domain is provided. The method includes: loading a first set of transformed artifacts and a first artifact map from a first domain into a second domain; generating an association model based on an evaluation of the first artifact map and a second artifact map; comparing a first transformed artifact of the first set of transformed artifacts with a second artifact of a second set of artifacts corresponding to the second artifact map based on the association model; determining differences based on the comparing; and selectively updating the second artifact map based on the differences.

Synchronization of artifacts across different domains

A method for modeling, validating, and monitoring a service level agreement (SLA) associated with a business process is disclosed herein. Such a method may include providing a library of reusable SLA component types. Functionality may be provided to enable a user to create SLA components from the reusable SLA component types. Functionality may also be provided to enable the user to assemble the SLA components into an SLA model having a hierarchy. In the SLA model, events may be passed between the SLA components to trigger behavior by the SLA components. SLA components at the lowest levels of the hierarchy may be configured to receive events from the business process. The method may further validate the SLA model against the business process to ensure the business process can generate the events required by the SLA components. A corresponding apparatus and computer program product are also disclosed herein.

Flexible SLA modelling and validation

Conversion from a graphical representation to a structural, text-based representation of a business process. A method and system identifies shared nodes in the graphical representation having more than one incoming control connection. Segmenting a graph based on the initial graphical representation based on the location of the shared nodes. Converting each segment of the graph to a set of corresponding segment-based structural, text-based representations. Creating a resultant structural text-based representation comprising the set of corresponding representations in which each of the segment-based representations is defined to potentially execute concurrently. Generating synchronization elements in the resultant representation defined with reference to the incoming control connections of the previously identified shared nodes, while maintaining the semantics of the initial graphical representation in the resultant structural text-based representation.
