A humanoid toy that under the influence of gravity will travel down a vertical surface, while tumbling as sticky regions temporarily and in turn stick to the surface in known manner, the toy comprising a body and two pairs of limbs that are hingedly connected to the body. Each limb is formed in two parts that are hingedly connected together intermediate its length.

Tumbling toy with freely movable limbs

A humanoid toy figure having a body with a sticky region at the end of each limb that temporarily adhere to vertical surfaces and cause the body to tumble down the surface in a manner already well-known. The sticky region is connected to the body by a resilient tie that allows or causes the body to drop vertically due to the weight of the body stretching the tie . If there is no weight on the tie , the sticky region will be held against a remote end of the respective arm.

Resilient, walking toy

A wall walker toy car has a wheel with a sticky undulating surface. The wheel is mounted on a pivotable bracket which provides a cover for an aperture in a base of the car. For wall-walking mode, the bracket is manually rotated so that the surface is partially exposed to engage a vertical surface. In the configuration shown in the Figure, the surface of the wheel is wholly inside the car and so cannot be contaminated with dust and debris.

A wall walker toy car has a wheel with a sticky peripheral surface that normally extends partially out of a car body. The wheel is supported on a pivotable frame that responds to impact on a part, which would move relatively, to allow the frame to move up under the action of a spring cushion. A second position of the wheel is shown dotted where the wheel is fully retracted into the body so that the sticky surface is less exposed to dust and dirt and therefore has a longer serviceable life in practice.

A toy beetle which travels down a vertical surface under the influence of gravity has four movable limbs which are arranged in pairs at opposite ends of an axle that is rotatable about a transverse axis of the beetle. Sticky materials at the ends of the limb adhere temporarily to the vertical surface in use. According to the orientation of the beetle with respect to the vertical the beetle will either, in somewhat random fashion, walk or tumble down the surface.

Toys

A toy adapted to crawl down a vertical surface has a frame carrying a shell at one end and a roller at the other. The roller has a corrugated surface of soft tacky material such that the roller will roll slowly down a vertical surface.
