There is provided an exposing device which includes an elongated optical head in which a plurality of light emitting portions are arranged, and a supporting member to which the optical head is adhered. The optical head and the supporting member are adhered by a first adhesive, and a second adhesive of which a modulus of elasticity after curing is lower than that of the first adhesive. The second adhesive is applied in a second adhesive area which is located at a boundary between the optical head and the supporting member and which is longer, in a longitudinal direction of the optical head, than a first adhesive area which is located at the boundary and to which the first adhesive is applied.

A light source apparatus includes a semiconductor laser which emits a laser beam, a coupling lens which converts the laser beam emitted from the semiconductor laser into a light flux, and a cylindrical lens into which the light flux is allowed to come from the coupling lens. The cylindrical lens is integrally formed with a lens portion, an outer circumferential portion which is arranged at an outer circumference of the lens portion, and a support portion which extends from the outer circumferential portion toward the semiconductor laser and which supports the coupling lens.

An image forming apparatus includes: a photosensitive drum configured to rotate about a rotational axis extending in an axial direction; and a charger that charges the photosensitive drum. The charger includes: a wire electrode; a grid electrode having a grid surface that faces the photosensitive drum between the wire electrode and the photosensitive drum; and a pair of shield electrodes, which faces each other with interposing the wire electrode therebetween, and which extends in a substantially orthogonal direction to the grid electrode. The grid surface is inclined to a second plane such that the grid electrode and the shield electrode come close to the photosensitive drum at a more downstream side in a rotating direction of the photosensitive drum than a first plane, wherein the first plane includes the wire electrode and the rotational axis of the photosensitive drum, and the second plane is orthogonal to the first plane.

A light source device is provided, which includes: a hold member; a light source held by the hold member; an optical element held by the hold member; and a hardened first adhesive agent bonding at least one of the light source and the optical element to the holding member. The hardened first adhesive agent has elasticity.

Optical scanner

A light source device includes a light source, a coupling lens configured to convert light emitted from the light source into a beam of light, a holding member configured to hold the coupling lens, and a frame to which the holding member is fixed. The holding member includes a tubular main body portion for holding the coupling lens, and a pair of first protrusions sticking out from an outer peripheral surface of the main body portion. The pair of first protrusions have fixing surfaces lying in the same plane and fixed to the frame.

In a light source device, a light-emitting element and a coupling lens configured to condense a beam of light emitted from the light-emitting element are held by a holding member. The holding member has an adherend that is opposite to a surface of the coupling lens facing to the light-emitting element in a direction of an optical axis of the coupling lens. Part of the surface of the coupling lens facing to the light-emitting element is bonded to the adherend of the holding member. In the optical scanner which includes this light source device, a beam of light emitted from the light source device is deflected by a deflector so that a target surface is scanned with the beam of light, and the deflected beam of light is caused by an image forming optical system to focus on the target surface, to form an image thereon.

In a scanner housing of an optical scanner fixed to a main body housing of an image forming apparatus, an opposite wall is disposed between a support wall on which an optical element is supported and a wall of the main body housing. A space at an extreme end of an inner projection has a distance smaller than distances at all other spaces between the support wall and the opposite wall. A space at an extreme end of an outer projection has a distance smaller than distances at all other spaces between the wall of the main body housing and the opposite wall. The space at the extreme end of the inner projection overlaps with the space at the extreme end of the outer projection as viewed from a direction in which the inner projection and the outer projection project.

In an image forming apparatus, a rigid-body plate, which is to be placed across a scanning unit for constituting a housing, also serves as an upper cover of the scanning unit, and the scanning unit is suspended on the rigid-body plate at an interior position from a top cover of an upper portion of the housing of the image forming apparatus. This obviates a necessity for interposing, between the scanning unit and a photosensitive drum, a rigid-body plate or the like used for mounting the scanning unit, thereby shortening a distance between the scanning unit and the photosensitive drum.

An optical lens system including a plurality of optical lenses which cooperate with each other to transmit a laser beam deflected in a main scanning direction to scan an object in the main scanning direction, and which include a first lens which is formed of a resin and has a tilt correction function, and at least one second lens which is remoter from the object than the first lens on an optical path. The first lens includes an effective lens portion which has a possibility that the laser beam is transmitted therethrough. The effective lens portion has an incidence surface to which the laser beam is incident in an optical-axis direction, and an outgoing surface from which the laser beam outgoes in the optical-axis direction, and at least one of the incidence surface and the outgoing surface is curved outward in a sub-scanning direction perpendicular to the main scanning direction and the optical-axis direction. The first lens further includes at least one first ineffective lens portion which has no possibility that the laser beam is transmitted therethrough, and which is located adjacent the effective lens portion in the sub-scanning direction. In a cross section of the first lens taken along a plane perpendicular to the main scanning direction, the at least one first ineffective lens portion does not project outward from the outward curved surface of the effective lens portion in the optical-axis direction.
