In a control apparatus for an alternating current (AC) motor, a control mode switching determiner compares a modulation rate with a modulation rate threshold, and selects between a synchronous control mode to perform synchronous control in a range where the modulation rate is equal to or greater than a modulation rate threshold and an asynchronous control mode to perform asynchronous control in a range where the modulation rate is less than the modulation rate threshold. The control mode switching determiner uses a different modulation rate threshold in a low rotational speed range and a high rotational speed range such that the modulation rate threshold in the low rotational speed range is greater than the modulation rate threshold in the high rotational speed range. A selector selects between outputting the synchronous pulse signal and outputting the asynchronous pulse signal.

Control apparatus for AC motor

A switching control apparatus is applied to a load drive system that includes a DC voltage converter having a reactor and at least one switching element, and a power transducer including multiple switching element pairs. The switching control apparatus controls a switching timing of the switching element in the DC voltage converter and the switching element pairs in the power transducer. The switching control apparatus includes a DC voltage converter control circuit, a DC voltage converter drive circuit, a power transducer control circuit, a power transducer drive circuit, a switching prohibition period calculation portion, and a switching correction portion.

Switching control apparatus of load drive system

A switching control device is applied to a motor generator drive system equipped with a boost converter and an inverter. In order to avoid generation of a superimposed surge voltage, the switching control device corrects a switching timing tsw of the booster converter so that a switching timing of the booster converter is not overlapped with a switching timing of the inverter. A booster converter switching correction means corrects the switching timing tsw of the correction target to bring forward and before a start timing tpa of the switching inhibition period Pp. This makes it possible to suppress fluctuation in output of a load due to deterioration in controllability of the electric power converter, for example, suppress fluctuation in output torque of a motor generator.

Switching control device

A vehicle includes a vehicle body having a front wheel housing, an axle, a disk wheel fixed to the axle in the front wheel housing and a tire mounted on the disk wheel. The vehicle further includes a breaking member that is provided projecting from the vehicle body toward the disk wheel. The breaking member breaks the disk wheel when the vehicle body is crashed at a front thereof at a predetermined speed or higher.

A power converter for an electric rotating machine is provided which is designed to ensure a desired length of a current flywheel duration in which current is permitted to freewheel from the electric rotating machine even if the power converter is in a transient state or subjected to an unexpected change. The power converter is equipped with a controller and a switching circuit which is disposed between a power supply and windings of the electric rotating machine. The switching circuit has switches grouped into an upper and a lower arm. The controller works to control an off-operation of one of the switches of one of the upper and lower arm so as to produce a desired length of the current flywheel duration following turning off of the one of the switches, thereby minimizing a loss of rectification and avoiding the backflow of current from the power supply to the windings.

Power converter for electric rotating machine

The motor control apparatus includes a power supply function of supplying electric power from a power supply to a motor, a rotational position detecting function of performing detection of a rotational position of a rotor of the motor for respective phases of the motor, and outputting first rotational position data indicative of result of the detection, a control function of controlling a power supply operation of the power supply function in accordance with the first rotational position data, and an induced voltage detecting function of performing detection of induced voltages of the respective phases of the motor. The control function controls the power supply operation of the power supply function in accordance with result of the detection performed by the induced voltage detecting function when the first rotational position data are abnormal.
