A cost-reduced, downsized automatic opening/closing apparatus for vehicle is achieved by reducing the number of components thereof. A case of a driving unit is provided with a drum housing portion, and a driving drum is rotatably accommodated in the drum housing portion. An electric motor is attached to the case, and the driving drum is driven for rotation by the electric motor. A cable connected to a sliding door is wound around the driving drum. By rotation of the driving drum, the sliding door is opened and closed as being drawn by the cable. The case is provided with a substrate housing portion integrally with the drum housing portion, and a control substrate for controlling an operation of the electric motor is accommodated in the substrate housing portion.

Automatic opening/closing apparatus for vehicle

A child lock apparatus is capable of electrically controlling a child lock function, which disables a door opening operation when a door of a vehicle is opened from a vehicle cabin side by operating a door inner handle. The child lock apparatus includes a child lock mechanism which child-locks the door, and a controller which controls the child lock mechanism based on driving conditions of the vehicle detected by a driving condition detector. The controller controls the child lock mechanism to child-lock the door if the driving condition detector detects that the vehicle is running.

A capacitance sensor of the present invention is equipped with a sensor unit that comprises a pair of detection electrodes, which are connected to respective reference capacitors, are provided with being oppositely separated, and can contact each other; and an insulation member having flexibility by holding at least one detection electrode. And a capacitance type object detection method thereof is an object detection method for detecting an object's nearing: when the object nears, a non-contact sensor detects it with non contact according to a change of a capacitance; and when the object makes contact, a contact sensor, which deforms by the contact of the object, detects it with contact.

An automatic vehicle wiper system including a wiper, a speed sensor which measures vehicle speed, a rainfall measuring device which measures amount of rainfall during predetermined intervals, a calculating device which calculates a wiping action frequency of the wiper as first data, depending on the amount of rainfall measured by the rainfall measuring device, a memory device which stores the first data calculated by the calculating device as second data when the vehicle speed measured by the speed sensor decreases to equal to or less than a predetermined value, and a wiping action frequency determining device which determines the wiping action frequency of the wiper by comparing the first data and the second data when the vehicle speed measured by the speed sensor becomes equal to or greater than a predetermined value after it has been confirmed that the vehicle has stopped.

Cable guides for keeping the push-pull cable in mesh with a pinion are effectively reinforced by a member connecting the free ends of the cable guides. In particular, even when the cable guides are made of a plastic member, and the push-pull cable drive unit is subjected to high temperature environments, the meshing between the cable and the pinion is ensured. Thus, the present invention provides a stable and reliable operation of the push-pull cable drive unit with a simple and economical arrangement. This arrangement is particulalry useful for automotive sunroofs.

In a method for controlling a powered sliding door system, a standard time period for the sliding door to pass a calibration interval defined near a fully closed position under a standard duty ratio condition is measured, and the duty ratio of the drive pulse signal for the motor in the remaining interval of operation is determined from this standard time period so that the sliding door may move at a prescribed speed irrespective of the load acting on the door. This control method can be favorably used in combination with the process of detecting an obstacle in the path of the sliding door, which is based on the detection in the reduction in the speed of the sliding door, without any interference between them.

Method for controlling automotive sliding doors

The wiper system with translational motion is additionally capable of moving the wiper arm in angular motion at an auto stop position so that the wiper blade may be stowed away from the view of the vehicle operator when the wiper system is not in use. The retracted position may be defined immediately below the lower edge of the windshield. When a mist switch is turned on so as to effect a quick wiping action, the wiper arm can angularly move from the retracted position to the upright position. When the wiper arm is already in the translational motion, turning on of the mist switch may increase the speed of the translational motion. To prevent the wiper blade from obstructing the view of the vehicle operator in an intermittent mode, the position of the temporary stop of the wiper blade may be selected at the reversing position which is remote from the vehicle operator. If the interval of the intermittent operation of the wiper arm is relatively short, the position of the temporary stop may then be selected at the auto stop position because the duration of the temporary stop is so short that the obstruction of the view of the vehicle operator is insignificant.
