A plurality of cDNAs each having a known different base sequence are labeled with a fluorescent dye (FITC), whereby F-cDNA is prepared. The F-cDNA is disposed at a plurality of predetermined positions on the slide glass of a DNA micro array chip. Cy5-cDNA is prepared by synthesizing cDNA from poly(A)-mRNA in the presence of a fluorescent dye (Cy5). The Cy5-cDNA is placed on the DNA micro array chip and hybridized to the F-cDNA. After hybridization, the DNA micro array chip is read by a quantitative apparatus incorporated with an analyzer in which information about the base composition ratio and base length of cDNA has been registered.

Test piece and quantitative method and apparatus for an organism-oriented substance

A radiation image readout apparatus scans an excitation light in a main scanning direction and a sub scanning direction over a stimulable phosphor sheet, on which radiation energy has been stored, and detects the stimulated emission emitted thereupon; wherein, various types of phosphor sheets can be read out at a high resolution and high sensitivity. The excitation light energy level for obtaining an adequate sensitivity for each type of phosphor sheet is obtained. A controller controls the intensity of the excitation light emitted from the light source and the speed of the scanning mechanism, that is, the readout speed, whereby the excitation light projected onto a phosphor sheet of which the diffusion rate has been controlled by the inclusion therein of an navy blue colorant is of a greater energy level than the excitation light projected onto the white stimulable phosphor sheet not containing the navy blue colorant.

Radiation image readout method and apparatus

A stimulable phosphor sheet stored thereon a radiation image is two-dimensionally scanned by a stimulating light beam by projecting the light beam along a main scanning line extending in a main scanning direction and moving one of the stimulable phosphor sheet and the stimulating light beam in a sub-scanning direction relatively to the other so that the stimulable phosphor sheet is exposed to the stimulating light beam along a plurality of main scanning lines arranged in the sub-scanning direction at a predetermined pitch and stimulated emission emitted from the part of the stimulable phosphor sheet exposed to the stimulating light beam is photoelectrically converted to an electric image signal by a photoelectric convertor. The power of the stimulating light beam is controlled depending on the pitch at which the main scanning lines are arranged in the sub-scanning direction.

Radiation image read-out method and apparatus

A photomultiplier which detects feeble light emitted by the irradiation of excitation light on an image carrier carrying an image related to a living organism has an integration circuit is DC-coupled with a photomultiplier to convert a current signal output from the photomultiplier, to a voltage signal. The voltage signal converted by the integration circuit is logarithmically compressed with a logarithmic conversion circuit. An offset compensation circuit is provided for reducing an offset voltage that could occur because of charge injection in the integral action of the integration circuit.

An image reading apparatus includes a first laser stimulating ray source for emitting a laser beam having a wavelength of 633 nm or 635 nm, a second laser stimulating ray source for emitting a laser beam having a wavelength of 470 to 480 nm, a laser beam scanning device for scanning the laser beam, at least one light detector for photoelectrically detecting light released from an image carrier carrying an image, and at least one filter member disposed in front of the light detector and having a plurality of filters for transmitting light of different wavelengths. The thus constituted image reading apparatus can be used for a radiation diagnosis system, an autoradiographic system, an electron microscope detecting system and a radiation diffraction image detecting system using a stimulable phosphor and a fluorescence detecting system and an image can be read with high sensitivity.

Image reading apparatus

A surface plasmon sensor comprises a prism, a metal film, which is formed on one surface of the prism and is brought into contact with a sample, and a light source for producing a light beam. An optical system causes the light beam to pass through the prism and to impinge upon an interface between the prism and the metal film such that various different angles of incidence may be obtained with respect to the interface. A photodetector detects an intensity of the light beam, which has been totally reflected from the interface, with respect to each of the various different angles of incidence. An electrode stands facing the metal film with a liquid sample intervening therebetween, and a DC voltage is applied across the electrode and the metal film. A substance contained in the liquid sample is thus analyzed quickly and with a high sensitivity.

A chemiluminescent detecting method includes the steps of uniformly irradiating with radiation a stimulable phosphor sheet formed with a stimulable phosphor layer containing a stimulable phosphor which can store an energy of radiation and be stimulated by visible light to emit the energy of radiation in a form of light, thereby storing energy of radiation uniformly therein, selectively labeling a biopolymer with a labeling substance which can produce chemiluminescent light by contact of itself and a chemiluminescent substance, causing the biopolymer labeled with the labeling substance and the chemiluminescent substance to come into contact with each other, and exposing the stimulable phosphor sheet to chemiluminescent light produced by the contact of the biopolymer labeled with the labeling substance and the chemiluminescent substance. According to this chemiluminescent detecting method, it is possible to effectively produce information relating to a biopolymer such as information relating to a gene with high accuracy by using a stimulable phosphor sheet which can be easily handled and used for both the chemiluminescent detecting method and the autoradiographic detecting method.

Chemiluminescent detecting method and apparatus

A video image storage device comprises a signal input means capable of analog-to-digital conversion of input video signals including various types of scanning lines such as different numbers of scanning lines, a frame memory means capable of memorizing image signals and signal output means. The video image storage device further comprises an input signal generating means, an output signal generating means and a frame memory control means. The input signal generating means comprises a N multiplying circuit capable of N multiplying horizontal synchronizing pulses. The number of N in a dividing circuit can be arbitarily determined by the relation between effective image period and blanking period, and thus the video image storage device can store input video signals having different scanning line numbers which depend upon the types of diagnostic modalities.

A CRT image recording apparatus in which a picture a CRT image displayed on a CRT is photographed by a camera. In this apparatus, the number of vertical synchronizing signals separated from a video signal is counted, and the exposure time during which the CRT image is photographed is determined so as to correspond to the number of vertical synchronizing signals 2.sup.K .multidot.n (where K and n are integers) thereby counted. The exposure time is therefore determined is synchronism with the vertical synchronizing signals, thereby preventing any nonuniformity of exposure from occurring on a film.

Apparatus for recording CRT image

A controller for a CRT display apparatus which is capable of displaying an image selectively either in an interlace mode or in a non-interlace mode and which has a function for displaying the image in raster erase mode. The controller has a field detection circuit capable of judging whether the present mode is the interlace mode or the non-interlace mode, and a mode setting circuit allowing the CRT display apparatus to display the image in the raster erase mode which is changed so as to match the interlace display mode or in the non-interlace display mode switched over therebetween in accordance with the result of judgment conducted by said field detection circuit. In consequence, raster erase matching with the selected display mode can be selected and effected automatically.

Controller for CRT display apparatus

A synchronizing signal generating circuit is incorporated in a digital image storing device. When a plurality of video signals composed of different numbers of scanning lines and issued from television cameras of different types of various diagnostic apparatus are converted from analog to digital signals and stored per frame in an image memory in the digital image storing apparatus, sampling pulses for an A/D converter which are synchronous with the horizontal synchronizing signals of the video signals and field discriminating signals relative to odd-numbered fields and even-numbered fields, among composite synchronizing signals, are generated by using an N-multiplier including an equalizing pulse remover controlled by an F/V converter and a field discriminating circuit with a field discriminating time constant being automatically controlled by the F/V converter. The video signals are stored per frame in the image memory on a real-time basis by utilizing the sampling pulses and the field discriminating signal.
