A display device having a photosensing function is provided. A display device having a biometric authentication function typified by fingerprint authentication is provided. A display device having both a touch panel function and a biometric authentication function is provided. The display device includes a first substrate, a light guide plate, a first light-emitting element, a second light-emitting element, and a light-receiving element. The first substrate and the light guide plate are provided to face each other. The first light-emitting element and the light-receiving element are provided between the first substrate and the light guide plate. The first light-emitting element has a function of emitting first light through the light guide plate. The second light-emitting element has a function of emitting second light to a side surface of the light guide plate. The light-receiving element has a function of receiving the second light and converting the second light into an electric signal. The first light includes visible light, and the second light includes infrared light.

Display device

A novel optical functional device that is highly convenient, useful, or reliable is provided. The optical functional device includes a light-emitting function, a photoelectric conversion function, a first electrode, a second electrode, and an optical functional layer. The light-emitting function converts electrical energy into first light, the first light has a first emission spectrum, and the first emission spectrum exhibits a maximum peak at a first wavelength. At a second wavelength, the intensity of the first emission spectrum is 80% of the maximum peak. The photoelectric conversion function has a spectral sensitivity characteristic; at a third wavelength, the spectral sensitivity characteristic has a maximum sensitivity within a range of 420 to 720 nm inclusive; and at a fourth wavelength, the sensitivity of the spectral sensitivity characteristic is 80% of the maximum sensitivity. The third wavelength is positioned closer to the second wavelength than to the first wavelength, and the fourth wavelength is positioned closer to the first wavelength than to the third wavelength.

Optical functional device, functional panel, display device, input/output device, and data processing device

A display device having a biometric authentication function is provided. A highly convenient display device is provided. The display device includes a first substrate, a light guide plate, a plurality of first light-emitting elements, a second light-emitting element, and a plurality of light-receiving elements. The light guide plate includes a first portion having a first surface and a second portion having a second surface that connects with the first surface and has a different normal direction from the first surface. The first light-emitting elements and the light-receiving elements are provided between the first substrate and the light guide plate. The first light-emitting elements have a function of emitting first light through the light guide plate, and the second light-emitting element has a function of emitting second light to a side surface of the light guide plate. The light-receiving elements have a function of receiving the second light and converting the second light to an electric signal. The first light includes visible light, and the second light includes infrared light.

Display element having authentication portion and health monitoring portion

A display apparatus having a light detection function is provided. The display apparatus includes a first pixel and a second pixel. The first pixel includes a first subpixel and a second subpixel. The second pixel includes a third subpixel. The first subpixel is a subpixel that emits light with the shortest wavelength (e.g., blue light or light with a shorter wavelength than blue light) in subpixels included in the first pixel. The second subpixel has a function of receiving the light emitted by the first subpixel. The third subpixel is a subpixel that emits light with the shortest wavelength in subpixels included in the second pixel. The photoelectric conversion device includes a first electrode, a second electrode, and a first unit. The first unit is located between the first electrode and the second electrode. The first unit contains a first electron-donating material and a first electron-accepting material. The first electron-donating material is a condensed aromatic compound, and the first electron-accepting material has a perylene skeleton and two or more alkyl groups. The alkyl groups each independently have 1 to 13 carbon atoms.

Photoelectric conversion device and optical functional device

A novel functional panel that is highly convenient, useful, or reliable is provided. The functional panel includes a first element and a second element. The first element includes a first electrode, a second electrode, and a first optical functional layer. The first optical functional layer includes a region interposed between the first electrode and the second electrode. The first optical functional layer includes a first layer and a layer containing a first light-emitting material. The second element includes a third electrode, the second electrode, and a second optical functional layer. The second optical functional layer includes a region interposed between the third electrode and the second electrode. The second optical functional layer includes the first layer and a layer containing a photoelectric conversion material. Display device, display module, and electronic device including a light-receiving element and light-emitting elements

An object is to provide a highly reliable display unit having a function of sensing light. The display unit includes a light-receiving device and a light-emitting device. The light-receiving device includes an active layer between a pair of electrodes. The light-emitting device includes a hole-injection layer, a light-emitting layer, and an electron-transport layer between a pair of electrodes. The light-receiving device and the light-emitting device share one of the electrodes, and may further share another common layer between the pair of electrodes. The hole-injection layer is in contact with an anode and contains a first compound and a second compound. The electron-transport property of the electron-transport layer is low; hence, the light-emitting layer is less likely to have excess electrons. Here, the first compound is the material having a property of accepting electrons from the second compound.

Display unit, display module, and electronic device

The resolution of a display apparatus having a light detection function is increased. A display apparatus includes a plurality of transistors and a light-emitting and light-receiving device in a subpixel. The light-emitting and light-receiving device has a function of emitting light of a first color and a function of receiving light of a second color. One of a source and a drain of a first transistor is electrically connected to a first wiring, and the other thereof is electrically connected to a gate of a second transistor. One electrode of the light-emitting and light-receiving device is electrically connected to one of a source and a drain of the second transistor, one of a source and a drain of a third transistor, and one of a source and a drain of a fifth transistor. One of a source and a drain of a fourth transistor is electrically connected to a second wiring, and the other thereof is electrically connected to the other of the source and the drain of the third transistor.

An object is to provide a display device having a function of emitting visible light and infrared light and an imaging function. Another object is to increase the definition without changing the density of imaging elements while the high resolution of an image displayed on a display device is kept. The display device has a layout in which a light-receiving region of an imaging element is provided between light-emitting regions of a plurality of light-emitting elements over one substrate. In the imaging function of the display device, as a means for increasing the definition of a captured image, the definition is increased without changing the density of imaging elements by capturing an image by time division.

Display device having light-receiving region between first-and-second-emitting regions

A display device featuring a touch detection and a fingerprint imaging functions is provided. A display device includes a light-emitting element and a light-receiving element. The light-emitting element includes a first pixel electrode, a light-emitting layer, and a common electrode, and the light-receiving element includes a second pixel electrode, an active layer, and the common electrode. The first pixel electrode and the second pixel electrode are provided on the same plane. The common electrode overlaps with the first pixel electrode with the light-emitting layer therebetween, and overlaps with the second pixel electrode with the active layer therebetween. A first conductive layer, a second conductive layer, and an insulating layer are provided above the common electrode. The insulating layer is provided above the first conductive layer, and the second conductive layer is provided above the insulating layer. The light-receiving element has a function of receiving light emitted from the light-emitting element.

A thin lightweight imaging device is provided. A highly convenient imaging device is provided. The imaging unit includes an imaging unit, a memory, and an arithmetic circuit. The imaging unit includes a light-receiving device, a first light-emitting device, and a second light-emitting device. The first light-emitting device has a function of emitting light in a wavelength range that is different from a wavelength range of light emitted by the second light-emitting device. The imaging unit has a function of making the first light-emitting device emit light and acquiring first image data. The arithmetic circuit has a function of combining the first correction image data and the second correction image data to generate synthesized image data. The light-receiving device includes a first pixel electrode, and the first light-emitting device includes a second pixel electrode on the same plane as the first pixel electrode.
