The power shut-off unit is equipped with two relays () connected to an external circuit, and a tabular baseplate (). Multiple auxiliary electronic components () are mounted on the baseplate (). The relays () are held so as to float over a mounting surface () via a pair of retaining members (). A distance (d) equal to or greater than the thickness of the baseplate () is maintained between the relays () and the mounting surface (). The baseplate () is not directly fixed to the mounting surface () and is connected to the relays () via multiple latching members (). Because no load is acted upon the baseplate () by the relays (), the baseplate () can be made thin.

Power shut-off unit

An electromagnetic relay includes a fixed iron core; a movable iron core disposed opposing to the fixed iron core; a coil for generating a magnetic force when energized to make the movable iron core attracted by the fixed iron core; a movable contact coupled with the movable iron core; a fixed contact disposed opposing to the movable contact; and a reset spring for resetting the movable iron core when the coil is de-energized. The movable iron core includes a base body to which an expanding force of the reset spring is applied and a movable member provided independently from the base body. The movable member is attracted by the fixed iron core when the coil is energized to move integrally with the base body, and is reset by the expanding force of the reset spring when the coil is de-energized to slide independently from the base body.

Electromagnetic relay

A battery module has stacked therein a plurality of flat cells each formed by sealing a power generating element with a package member and deriving to the exterior electrode tabs from the package member and has the electrode tabs of the flat cells connected electrically. The battery module includes electrically insulated spacers adapted to nip the electrode tab from the opposite surface sides of the electrode tab along the stacking direction of the plurality of flat cells. The paired spacers nipping the electrode tab include an engaging member adapted to fasten the electrode tab by being passed through the electrode tab along the stacking direction.
