An electric motor gives regenerative braking force to a hybrid vehicle by regenerative control. A regeneration level selector selects regenerative braking force of the electric motor by a driver's operation. When an ECO mode is applied, an ECU increases the regenerative braking force selected by the regeneration level selector as compared with the time when the ECO mode is not applied.

Vehicle

An ECU causes a vehicle to travel while selecting one of a CD mode in which an SOC of a power storage device is consumed and a CS mode in which the SOC is maintained to a prescribed level. The ECU controls vehicle driving force to be smaller in the CD mode than in the CS mode at the same accelerator pedal position.

Hybrid vehicle

A vehicle includes an engine, a motor generator, an electrical storage device, a keeping switch, and a controller. The controller is configured to (a) cause the vehicle to travel by using the output of at least one of the engine and the motor generator, (b) control the state of charge of the electrical storage device, (c) when the keeping mode is requested in response to the signal output from the keeping switch and when the state of charge is higher than a threshold, execute a first keeping control for keeping the state of charge at a current value, and (d) when the keeping mode is requested in response to the signal output from the keeping switch and when the state of charge is lower than the threshold, execute a second keeping control for recovering the state of charge from a current value.

In a hybrid vehicle, the charging power of a power storage device can be generated through power generation by a motor generator by using an output of an engine. In response to operation of an SOC recovery switch, an ECU executes SOC recovery control for increasing an SOC of the power storage device to an SOC target value. The SOC target value in the SOC recovery control is set to be higher than an SOC control target when the SOC recovery control is not in execution. The ECU variably sets the SOC target value in the SOC recovery control based on a past driving history of the hybrid vehicle.

Hybrid vehicle having mode of increasing amount of charge stored in power storage device to target value and control method for hybrid vehicle

A hybrid vehicle according to the present invention includes an engine, a power storage device, a motor generator, and an ECU. The motor generator receives electric power from the power storage device and generates travel driving force. The ECU selects one of a CD mode and a CS mode to cause the vehicle to travel, in the CD mode an SOC of the power storage device being consumed, in the CS mode the SOC being maintained within a prescribed range. The CS mode includes a first CS mode and a second CS mode, the first CS mode being selected when the SOC decreases to a prescribed amount, the second CS mode being selected based on a user's intention. A second prescribed range corresponding to the second CS mode is set to be wider than a first prescribed range corresponding to the first CS mode.

A display device includes: first setting means for setting a first operation amount to be performed by an occupant so as to increase an output in a state in which a vehicle speed is less than a predetermined threshold; second setting means for setting a second operation amount to be performed by the occupant such that an operation state of the vehicle can be shifted to a desired state in which optimal instantaneous fuel consumption is realized, by decreasing the output in a state in which the vehicle speed is equal to or greater than the predetermined threshold; and display means for displaying, on a display unit, at least one of the first operation amount and the second operation amount, and a present operation amount which is an operation amount performed at present by the occupant.

A hybrid motor vehicle includes a controller configured to: control an engine and a motor so that when power required of the vehicle increases to or above a first threshold value during stop of the engine, the engine outputs the required power until the required power decreases to or below a second threshold value that is smaller than the first threshold value; control the engine and the motor so that when the required power decreases to or below the second threshold value during operation of the engine, the engine is in a stopped state until the required power increases to or above the first threshold value; and set the second threshold value so that the second threshold value is smaller when degree of degradation of the battery exceeds a threshold value than when the degree of degradation of the batter is less than or equal to the threshold value.
