A fishing reel component includes a boss, a spring member, a lid member, a push button and spring arrangement member. The boss forms a boss through hole and a mounting space. The spring member is mounted in the mounting space. The spring member includes first and second engagement portions arranged to oppose each other. The lid member is fixed to the boss to retain the spring member and cover the mounting space. The push button includes a plurality of tapered portions. The tapered portions protrude from the push operation portion in the axial direction. The spring arrangement member arranges the spring member between the lid member and the spring arrangement member. The spring arrangement member includes a plurality of first through holes with each of the first through holes being configured for one of the tapered portions to pass therethrough.

Fishing reel component

A drag mechanism is arranged between a spool and a spool shaft and includes at least one first drag washer, at least one second drag washer and a drag knob. The at least one first drag washer has on an outer circumferential portion with at least one interlock protrusion. The at least one second drag washer is arranged with respect to the first drag washer along an axial direction of the spool. The drag knob is configured to be threaded onto the spool shaft to selectively adjust an amount of pressure acting on the first and second drag washers.

Spinning reel drag mechanism

An oscillation device axially oscillates a spool with handle rotation, and includes a driving gear, a cam gear, a slider, and a guiding portion. The driving gear is arranged on a master gear shaft, so as to be spaced apart from the master gear. The cam gear has a cam pin on its side surface, and is arranged on the fishing rod attachment side of the oscillation device relative to the master gear shaft. The cam gear is attached to the reel unit rotatably about an axis substantially parallel to the master gear shaft, so as to rotate in cooperation with the driving gear. The slider has a cam receiving portion engaging with the cam pin of the cam gear, and is axially immovably attached to the rear of the spool shaft. The guiding portion is provided in the reel unit and guides the slider movably in the axial direction.

Spinning-reel oscillating device

An oscillating mechanism includes a first non-circular gear, a rotary cam and a slider. The first non-circular gear is a bi-lobe gear rotatable about an axis of the handle rotation. The rotary cam is rotatably mounted in the reel unit so as to be parallel with the first non-circular gear. The rotary cam includes a cam protrusion, and a multi-lobe second non-circular gear arranged so that a tooth corresponding to the minimum tip diameter of the second non-circular gear meshes with a tooth corresponding to the maximum tip diameter of the first non-circular gear. The number of teeth of the second non-circular gear is greater than that of the first non-circular gear. The slider is axially movably mounted to the spool shaft. The slider includes a cam groove engaging the cam protrusion. The present invention facilitates tight winding of fishing line in a shape closer to a cylindrical shape.

A spinning-reel reel unit includes a rod-attachment leg and a reel body having a main piece and a lid member. The lid member is integrally formed with the rod-attachment leg and is attachably/detachably fitted to the main piece. The main piece and the lid member are shaped so that a joint forms a curved seam on the rod-attachment leg side. The joint is formed so as to bulge downward on a side of the main piece away from the rod-attachment leg. The joint is formed so as to be tilted upward on the rod-attachment leg aside toward the front. In the spinning-reel reel unit, the overall size of the reel is reduced while the strength of the reel unit is kept high.

Reel unit for spinning reel

Sealing structure has a friction disk having a spindle-form boss portion, a cover member, and a seal member, in a lever-drag type dual-bearing reel. Cover member has a through-hole situated encompassing the boss portion, and is a component that is rotatable relative to friction disk. The seal member, which is a component made of an elastic substance, is for sealing a clearance between the boss portion and the cover member, and has an cylindrical portion made of an elastic substance and mountable on the boss portion, and a sealing portion formed integrally on the outer circumferential surface of the cylindrical portion and tapering toward the through-hole. A distal edge of the sealing portion is for contacting a contact surface in through-hole. The present invention provides a structure for sealing a spindle-form first member and, disposed about the outer periphery thereof, a second member, to seal while controlling impairment in rotational performance, without having to use components or space for fastening.

Sealing structure for fishing reel

A power transmission mechanism is for transmitting power from a handle of a spinning reel to an oscillating mechanism, and includes a pinion gear, a dual-stepped gear, and a driven gear. The pinion gear rotates in cooperation with rotation of the handle. The dual-stepped gear has a larger-diameter gear that is a helical-tooth gear and meshes with the pinion gear, and a smaller-diameter gear that is arranged coaxially with the larger-diameter gear and is formed unitarily with the larger-diameter gear. The smaller-diameter gear is a straight-tooth gear or a helical gear whose orientation is substantially the same as an orientation of the larger gear. The driven gear meshes with the smaller-diameter gear to rotate the oscillating mechanism. In a power transmission device in a fishing reel, manufacturing cost is reduced while suppressing noise.

Fishing-reel power transmission device

Spool for a spinning reel for line-winding, fitted onto the fore end portion of a spool shaft that pumps back and forth with respect to a reel unit, is furnished with a bobbin trunk, a front flange and flange-fastening member. The bobbin trunk is fitted onto the fore end portion of the spool shaft. The front flange includes a first flange portion, which is formed integrally into a brim encompassing the fore end of the bobbin trunk, and a ring-shaped second flange portion fitted removably and reattachably onto the outer periphery of the first flange portion and made of a hard material. The flange-fastening member fastens the second flange portion onto the first flange portion.

Spool for spinning reel

Spinning-reel bail arm is provided on the fore-ends of first and second rotor arms to let it pivot between a line-guiding posture and a line-releasing posture, and is furnished with: first and second bail-support members mounted pivotally on the fore-ends of the first and second rotor arms; a line roller provided on the fore end of the first bail-support member; a stationary shaft that rotatively carries the line roller; a stationary-shaft cover; a bail that interconnects the stationary shaft cover and the second bail-support member; and a line-slack preventing part. The line-slack preventing part has a fishing-line piloting surface for piloting fishing line toward the line roller and is situated on the side of the first bail-support member from which the stationary shaft projects, such that the line-slack preventing part projects from the first bail-support member.

A fishing reel includes a spool that includes a cylindrical spool drum , a disk-shaped inner flange mounted on or alternatively formed at one end of the spool drum , and outer flange mounted by four bolts to the spool drum . Inner flange is formed such that it opposes the side plate of the reel body, and male screw part is provided protruding at the center part thereof. The outer flange is formed by press forming an aluminum alloy, for example.
