A method of manufacturing a stent delivery system and a stent delivery system that can reduce an insertion resistance of an outer tube relative to an inner wall surface of another medical appliance, such as a catheter. The method includes: deforming, by disposing an insertion member in a lumen of the inner-side tube, opposing two locations of the inner-side tube; disposing the respective operation wires in the pair on outer peripheral sides of the opposing two locations of the inner-side tube; disposing the outer-side tube at an outer peripheral side of the inner-side tube so as to surround the inner-side tube and the pair of the operation wires; and disposing, in a state where an insertion member is disposed in the lumen of the inner-side tube, a retaining member that retains a cross-sectional shape of the inner-side tube in a space formed between the inner-side tube and the outer-side tube.

Provided is a treatment method and a medical device that can intentionally and locally administer a drug to a lesion area appearing in a narrow blood vessel such as a retinal blood vessel and a spinal blood vessel. The treatment method has an introduction step of introducing a medical elongated body having a drug holder for holding a drug into a living body, an arrangement step of arranging the drug holder at a treatment target inside the living body, and a discharge step of discharging the drug to the treatment target by releasing the drug held by the drug holder.

Drug treatment method and delivery device

A stent delivery system is provided with a stent which, when inserted into an organism, is compressed in the center axis direction and which, when placed in the organism, can be expanded outward and restored to the shape which the stent has before being compressed; an inner tube body (inner tube); and a stent housing tube body (sheath) in which the stent is housed. The stent can be discharged by moving the stent housing tube body to the proximal side relative to the inner tube body. At least a portion of an inner surface of the stent housing tube body is a substantially polygonal prism-shaped inner surface which extends in the axial direction of the stent housing tube body.

Stent delivery system

A catheter of the present invention is used for angiography and has a tube body (catheter tube) having a lumen, a front end opening communicating with the lumen, and a side aperture communicating with the lumen. The side aperture is obliquely formed from the inner peripheral surface of the tube body to the peripheral surface thereof, namely, from the inner side of the tube body to the outer side thereof such that the side aperture is directed toward the front side of the tube body.
