A flat electrode body of a battery has a first-side curved end positioned on a first side of an electrode body width direction and a second-side curved end positioned on a second side. A positive electrode innermost curved portion of a positive electrode sheet is disposed inside the first-side curved end. When the dimension from a positive electrode connecting portion to the end on the first side of the electrode body is defined as a distance and the dimension from the positive electrode connecting portion to the end on the second side of the electrode body is defined as a distance, the positive electrode connecting portion being in the positive electrode protrusion wound portion and connected to a terminal connecting portion of a positive terminal member, the terminal connecting portion is connected to the positive electrode connecting portion at a position satisfying the condition Ha&#x2265;1.1Hb.

A method of producing a lithium ion secondary battery includes: selecting a positive electrode active material that has a prescribed specific surface area, and preparing a nonaqueous electrolyte solution that contains a compound with a following formula (1) at a prescribed concentration. In an xy-coordinate plane that gives a relationship between a specific surface area x [m/g] of the positive electrode active material and a concentration y [mol/kg] of the compound in the nonaqueous electrolyte solution, a combination of the prescribed specific surface area and the prescribed concentration corresponds to a combination of values that lies within a hexagonal inner region formed by connecting 6 points (x, y)=(1.50, 0.050), (2.20, 0.05), (2.60, 0.10), (2.60, 0.16), (0.80, 0.16), and (0.60, 0.10) in this sequence with straight lines. 

Method of producing lithium ion secondary battery, and lithium ion secondary battery

An electric storage apparatus includes a plurality of electric storage elements placed side by side along a predetermined direction and a restraint plate placed between two of the electric storage elements adjacent to each other in the predetermined direction. The electric storage element has a power-generating element performing charge and discharge and a case housing the power-generating element. The restraint plate has protruding portions which give a restraint force to the electric storage element and form a space between the restraint plate and the electric storage element. The power-generating element has a positive electrode plate, a negative electrode plate, and a separator placed between the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate. The power-generating element includes a reaction area where a chemical reaction associated with the charge and discharge occurs. The plurality of protruding portions have a first protruding portion in contact with a first area in the case and a second protruding portion in contact with a second area in the case. The first area in the case is opposite to the reaction area, and the second area in the case is opposite to the area of the power-generating element except the reaction area.

Electric storage apparatus

This invention provides a lithium secondary battery comprising a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a non-aqueous electrolyte. On the negative electrode surface, there is present a cyclic siloxane and/or a reaction product thereof. The cyclic siloxane is a cyclic siloxane having at least one side chain comprising a dimethylsiloxy group (a siloxy side chain-containing cyclic siloxane).

Lithium secondary battery and method for producing same

A battery includes: an external terminal protruding outward from a main body; a metal terminal for taking out electric power from inside the main body to the external terminal; and an insulating member for insulation between the main body, and the external terminal and the metal terminal. The metal terminal includes a base portion connected to the inside of the main body and extending along the same plane as one face of the main body from which the external terminal protrudes and an end portion which further extends from the base portion and to which the external terminal is fixed. The positive electrode plate has a collector cover layer that has electrical insulation properties and covers at least a part of a facing collector portion in the longitudinal direction in a positive electrode collector portion. The collector cover layer covers at least an innermost semi-cylindrical facing collector portion which forms the innermost part of the facing collector portion and has a half-cylindrical shape.

In a lithium-ion secondary battery (), a battery case () has sidewalls (A,B) facing toward side ends of a wound electrode body (), the side ends being at opposite lateral sides of the positive electrode sheet (), and of the sidewalls (A,B), one of the sidewalls (A) (positive-electrode-side sidewall) facing toward an uncoated portion () of the positive electrode sheet () is thicker than the other sidewall (B) (negative-electrode-side sidewall). In other words, the relationship between the thickness A of the one sidewall (A) facing toward the uncoated portion () of the positive electrode sheet () and the thickness B of the other sidewall (B) is A&#x3e;B.

Secondary battery

A lithium ion secondary battery includes a flat-shaped electrode wound body. Positive and negative terminals are connected respectively to the body and placed to partially protrude from a battery lid. Assuming that the body length in a winding axial direction is W, the body size in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction and parallel to the flat surfaces is H, and a distance between a farthest position in a connecting range of one of the terminals, in which the terminal is connected to an uncoated portion, from the lid and the body edge located on the lid side is X, the values W, H, and X are determined so that a point defined in a plane (X/H, H/W) by values (X/H) and (H/W) is located in a triangle defined by joining three points, (0.50, 0.70), (0.32, 0.40), and (0.70, 0.40) in the same plane.
