A simulation device includes an image sensor which captures an image of a real space including an actual robot and a peripheral device arranged at the periphery of the actual robot, an augmented reality display section which displays a virtual robot overlaid on the actual robot shown in the captured image, a workpiece management section which manages a position of a moving workpiece, and a motion control section which controls a motion of the virtual robot on the basis of the position of the workpiece.

Simulation device and robot system using augmented reality

The present invention provides a robot system capable of, regardless of the type of the robot, precisely measuring the positional relationship between an AR device and markers, and comparatively easily and with high precision recognizing the position or orientation of the robot with the AR device. The robot system includes a marker detecting unit that simultaneously detects a reference marker and a robot coordinate system identification marker in one detection operation; a robot system information receiving unit that receives information regarding the robot system; a robot coordinate system identifying unit that identifies a coordinate system of a robot from the position of the robot coordinate system identification indicator and coordinate system information; an AR device that displays the information regarding the robot system, based on the coordinate system of the robot; a coordinate system setting unit that sets an origin by moving the robot to a designated position; and a coordinate system information transmission unit that transmits the coordinate system information set by the coordinate system setting unit to the AR device.

Robot system

A robot system includes a sensor, a robot equipped with a gripping device capable of gripping a detected article, and a controller. The controller includes a gripping area setting unit that, for each article, sets a gripping area in which the gripping device is to be positioned when it grips the article, a determination unit that determines presence or absence of interference between the gripping area and other articles, a storage unit that stores a result of determination on the presence or absence of interference determined by the determination unit in association with each detected article, a robot control unit that causes the gripping device to pick up an article for which no other article interferes with the gripping area thereof, and an updating unit that updates the result of determination stored in the storage unit every time an article is picked up by the gripping device.

An article transfer device includes a robot configured to perform a workpiece picking operation; an image capturing device that captures an image of a workpiece on a conveyor; and a control unit, configured to execute, a workpiece identification process performing workpiece detection in the captured images; a workpiece information storage process storing workpiece information about a position and an angle of each detected workpiece in a storage device; and an identical workpiece determination process comparing the workpiece information of each of the detected workpieces in a newly captured image with the workpiece information of each of the detected workpieces in previously captured images, to determine whether the detected workpieces that are identical to the detected workpieces in the previously captured images exist in the newly captured image, to store in the storage device only the workpiece information of one of the images regarding the detected workpieces determined to be identical.
