A vehicular drive unit comprises a central differential mechanism and a front-wheel side axle differential mechanism. The central differential mechanism comprises a first planetary gear train, which includes an output gear body, a first carrier, which is provided in a one-piece body with this gear body, a first sun gear, a first ring gear, and a rear-wheel drive gear, which is a helical gear formed around this ring gear in a one-piece body. In this drive unit, a differential limiter C is provided between the output gear body(input rotating member) and a drive gear body(output rotating member) to generate a rotational resistance, which acts to reduce the rotational difference between the output gear bodyand the drive gear body

Vehicular four-wheel drive unit

A motor generator has a rotor directly coupled to a crankshaft and a stator disposed around the rotor. A shield plate is disposed between coils of the stator and an internal combustion engine. A first partition and a second partition are disposed between the coils and a flywheel positioned adjacent to a clutch mechanism.

Hybrid vehicle propulsion apparatus

The four-wheel drive system for vehicles has a center differential mechanism that divides the rotational driving force from the engine E between the front and rear wheels, and a front wheel side axle differential mechanism that divides this divided rotational driving force between the left and right front wheels. The center differential mechanism is constructed from a single pinion type first planetary gear device which has a first carrier that receives the rotational driving force from the engine E, a first sun gear , and a first ring gear that is connected to the rear wheel side, and the axle differential mechanism is constructed from a double pinion type second planetary gear device which has a second ring gear that is connected to the first sun gear , a second sun gear that is connected to the right front wheel, and a second carrier that is connected to the left front wheel. The first and second planetary gear devices are disposed adjacent to each other in a coaxial configuration.

Four-wheel drive system for vehicles

A power transmission mechanism which is capable of employing one electric motor as a drive source for driving drive wheels and as a drive source for cranking an engine, thereby making it possible to reduce manufacturing costs of the hybrid vehicle, and preventing the motor from offering an extra rotational resistance to the engine when the drive wheels are being driven by the engine, thereby making it possible to enhance fuel economy. In the power transmission mechanism for transmitting the driving force from the engine and/or the electric motor to the drive wheels, when a synchro-clutch for the electric motor, driven by a switching actuator, connects the drive shaft of the electric motor and a driving drive shaft gear to each other, the electric motor is connected to the drive wheels via a meshing gear pair (driving drive shaft gear and driving output shaft gear), whereas when the synchro-clutch connects the drive shaft of the electric motor and a cranking drive shaft gear to each other, the electric motor is connected to the engine via a meshing gear pair (cranking drive shaft gear and cranking input shaft gear), the input shaft of the transmission, and a clutch.

A power transmission mechanism for a front and rear-wheel drive vehicle in which the power of an electric motor is transmitted to rear wheels includes an output shaft adapted to rotate together with the electric motor, a middle shaft which is parallel with the output shaft, a drive shaft which is parallel with the output shaft and is adapted to rotate together with the rear wheels, a first pair of reduction gears for reducing the speed of rotation of the middle shaft relative to the output shaft, a second pair of reduction gears for reducing the speed of rotation of the drive shaft relative to the middle shaft and a rear differential disposed closer to an electric motor side than the second pair of reduction gears and coupled to the reduction gear and the drive shaft.

Power transmission mechanism for a front and rear-wheel drive vehicle

A vehicle clutch engagement condition determining apparatus determines the engagement condition of a clutch for disengaging an engine from a transmission. This determining apparatus estimates a motor speed corresponding value through an ECU, sets the motor speed corresponding value to the target speed of an electric motor when a gear shift lever of the transmission is operated, determines a control current value for controlling the speed of the electric motor so that the speed of the electric motor detected matches the target speed while drive wheels are driven by the electric motor and determines the engagement condition of the clutch based on an electric current deviation.
