An ink composition for performing printing on an impermeable base material, including water (A), a resin (B) which is at least one selected from the group consisting of an acrylic resin, a polyester resin, and a urethane resin, and an organic solvent (C) which has a boiling point of 250° C. or lower, has no nitrogen atom, and satisfies Expression (C1), in which a total content of the organic solvent (C) is in a range of 0.01% by mass to 5.0% by mass with respect to a total amount of the ink composition. In Expression (C1), SPrepresents an SP value of a main resin in the resin (B) in an MPaunit, SPrepresents an SP value of the organic solvent (C) in the MPaunit, and |SP−SP| represents an absolute value of a difference between SPand SP:|SP−SP|≤10.0  Expression (C1).

Ink composition for performing printing on impermeable base material and image recording method

Provided is an image recording method including a step of preparing an ink containing water and a white pigment, and a step of jetting the ink from an ink jet head in a liquid droplet amount of 1.0 pL or greater to apply the ink onto a base material, in which in a case where an ink jetting surface of the ink jet head is immersed in the ink in a vertically standing state for 2 seconds, the jetting surface is pulled up from the ink in the state, and the jetting surface is allowed to stand in the state for 1 minute, a ratio of an area of a region to which the ink is adhered to an area of the jetting surface is 40% by area or less.

Image recording method

An inkjet ink composition includes water (A), a resin (B), and an organic solvent (C) which has a boiling point of 250° C. or lower, satisfies Expression (C1), and has a nitrogen atom, in which a content mass ratio of the organic solvent (C) to a main resin in the resin (B) is 0.01 or greater and less than 2.0. Inkjet ink composition and image recording method

An ink set is an ink set including a treatment liquid having a pH of 4.5 or less or 9.5 or greater, and an ink containing a compound A which generates gas in an environment of a pH of 4.5 or less or 9.5 or greater, a resin, water, and a white pigment and having a pH of greater than 4.5 and less than 9.5, in which a ratio of a content mass of the white pigment to a content mass of the compound A in the ink is 1 or greater and 160 or less.
