A projection display device is provided with a main body cabinet; a projection port which is formed in the main body cabinet to guide modulated light to an outside of the projection display device; an air outlet which is formed at least in one of two surfaces of the main body cabinet facing each other across the projection port; and an exhaust unit which discharges, to the outside, air that has been warmed by heat exchange with a member to be cooled which is disposed in the main body cabinet through the air outlet. In this arrangement, the exhaust unit includes an exhaust fan, and a deflection member which deflects air discharged from the exhaust fan in a direction away from the projection plane.

Projection display device

A central position detection section has a detection width in which the central position has a median value along one axial direction. When the direction from a position, which is located at the time at which returning is started toward the central position is defined as a go direction, the control section commands that a drive mechanism should sequentially perform following operations: a first operation of driving a projection lens assembly in the go direction; a second operation of allowing the projection lens assembly to travel in a return direction at least by the detection width; and a third operation of allowing the projection lens assembly to travel in the detection width in the go direction by &#xbd; of the detection width traveled in the go direction.

Lens shift mechanism and projection image display device

A projection display device includes a light source; an optical system which modulates light from the light source, and emits the modulated light; a projecting portion which enlarges and projects the light emitted from the optical system; a cabinet which houses the light source, the optical system, and the projecting portion; an opening which is formed in one surface of the cabinet to allow mounting or dismounting of an optical component constituting the optical system, or the light source; a cover which covers the opening; and a holding portion which holds the cover in such a manner that the cover is allowed to slide in a direction along the one surface.

An airflow rate sensor is provided with a through hole, and a detection unit is disposed inside the through hole. The airflow rate is calculated based on the output voltage resulting from the temperature difference and the like caused in the detection unit by the air flowing through the through hole. A duct is provided with a concave portion so as to protrude from outside the duct toward the inside thereof. The airflow rate sensor is disposed in the duct so as to cover the concave portion, in which the through hole is in communication with the space in the concave portion. The concave portion has a bottom provided with an opening. Accordingly, an installation structure of a sensor for reliably sensing a flow rate and a projector apparatus having the same are provided.

A video projector including a housing which accommodates a component for projecting and displaying a picture. A cable insertion member is fastenable to an antitheft cable. The cable insertion member is retractable into the housing.

Video projector

A circuit board is attached in a displaceable manner to a lamp holder. When the lamp holder is attached to a holder housing, ends of pins extending from the holder housing are inserted into holes of the circuit board. At the time, the circuit board is guided and corrected for a positional shift by inclines at ends of the pins. Accordingly, a connector on an under surface of the circuit board is opposed to a connector on a circuit board in the holder housing side, whereby the two connectors can be properly connected.

Illuminating device, image display device, and lamp unit

A mounting structure for a temperature sensor, which detects the temperature of a wall surface. The mounting structure includes a groove formed in the wall surface and having an inlet from which the temperature sensor is inserted. The temperature sensor includes a main body, which has a temperature detection surface that detects the temperature of the wall surface, and a lead wire connected to the main body. A support supports the main body. A wire bender bends the lead wire of the temperature sensor extending out of the inlet to press the temperature detection surface of the temperature sensor against the wall surface with an elastic force of the lead wire that is produced when the lead wire is bent. A stopper restricts movement of the main body of the temperature sensor.

Temperature sensor mounting structure and video projector

A mirror unit of the present invention includes a base member constituted of an upper plate portion, a lower plate portion, a connecting portion connecting the upper plate portion and the lower plate portion, and wall portions. A mirror holder for holding a mirror is pivotally supported between the upper plate portion and the lower plate portion. A recess is formed in the wall portions. An adjuster is mounted in the recess. Screw holes extend through the recess, and adjusting screws are engaged in the screw holes. Lifting amounts of plate portions of the adjuster can be adjusted by the adjusting screws. The tilt angle of the mirror is adjusted so that the mirror is properly tilted with respect to a light flux from either one of two lamps.

Illuminating device, image display device, and mirror unit

A projection type image display apparatus has a light source unit () that includes an arc tube () enclosed by a reflector () for reflecting the light emitted from the arc tube in one direction through its opening (). The opening () of the reflector () of the light source unit () is covered with a transparent member (). Formed in one side of the reflector (), adjacent the opening is an air inlet port (), while the side facing the air inlet port () is closed (i.e. has no port). Formed in the remaining two sides of the reflector (), and adjacent the opening (), are air outlet ports () one for each side. This arrangement causes the cooling air to be uniformly circulated in the entire reflector () of the light source unit () without stagnation to regulate the temperature of the arc tube () in an easy and costless manner, and enables installation of the light source unit () at any angular position, free of angular limitation.

Projection type image display apparatus

A projector comprises: a cooling fan for sucking ambient air through a filter; switching means for switching the operational mode of the cooling fan between a lowland mode and a highland mode; and control means adapted to obtain current fan voltage to determine the normal rpm value for that current fan voltage in reference to a highland voltage-rpm characteristic when the switching means is in the highland mode, obtain current fan rpm, and enables alarming means to issue a filter clogging alarm in the event that the current fan rpm is larger than the normal rpm value plus a predetermined value. Thus, filter clogging can be detected with precision in highlands.

Projection type video display apparatus

A liquid crystal projector device of the present invention has a liquid crystal panel and a polarizing plate oppositely arranged on each optical path of light of three primary colors, and a rectangular optical compensation sheet for compensating birefringence of liquid crystal molecules in the liquid crystal panel, which is held by an optical compensation sheet holder and arranged between the liquid crystal panel and the polarizing plate. The optical compensation sheet holder includes a frame for holding the optical compensation sheet, and a turning member, which holds the frame turnably on a rotation axis approximately parallel to one of a pair of diagonals of the liquid crystal panel, and is attached to an end edge of an optical system holding case for holding an optical system turnably on a rotation axis perpendicular to the optical compensation sheet.

Elements of an optical system () of a projection type image display apparatus are stored in an optical system storage () having an upper opening in such a way that the optical element to be arranged close to a light source is fitted in the frame provided in the high-temperature region of the optical system storage () close to the light source, while the rest of the optical elements are respectively fitted in the frames in the low-temperature region of the optical system storage () remote from the light source. The upper opening in the high-temperature region is covered, in the low-temperature region, with a resilient metal lid (), and, in the low-temperature region, covered with a resilient resin lid (). Portions of these lids are partially cut into spring-like narrow strips having tips configured to firmly and accurately hold the lenses fitted in the respective frames, whereby the dimensional tolerances of the optical elements and the frames can be absorbed solely by the lids without resorting to any other parts.

In a projection video display system, display devices are irradiated with light emitted from a light sourcehoused in a body case, and a video image is projected to the outside of the body case. The system includes: a cooling fan for cooling the display devices; and an air passage for guiding air generated by driving the cooling fan to the display devices. Openings for making the display devices communicate with outside air are formed in positions corresponding to at least the display devices in the body case.

Projection video display system

A liquid crystal projector device of the present invention includes a lamp unit and a lamp cooling fan, the lamp unit having disposed therein a columnar lamp bulb having a luminous body enclosed therein, the lamp unit having a side wall opposed to the lamp cooling fan and provided with a first and second air introduction openings at opposite sides of a plane including a central axis of the lamp bulb and perpendicular to the side wall, for introducing the air drawn from the lamp cooling fan toward the lamp bulb.

Projector device

A projector includes: a liquid crystal panel in which liquid crystal molecules to be irradiated with light from a light source are sealed; a polarizing plate disposed in a position to face the liquid crystal panel; and an optical compensation sheet disposed between the polarizing plate and the liquid crystal panel and compensating birefringence of the liquid crystal molecules. The optical compensation sheet can be adjusted by being swung in a plane orthogonal to the optical axis, and its normal can be adjusted so as to be tilted from the optical axis.
