A method and apparatus for managing options for an aircraft. A selected option for the aircraft is received. A number of engineering options is identified for the selected option. The number of engineering options is in an aircraft option database comprising engineering options for the options for the aircraft. An engineering option in the engineering options is a pre-certified design meeting a group of regulations pertaining to airworthiness of the pre-certified design in the aircraft. A final design including the number of engineering options associated with resources in which the final design is for building the selected option in the aircraft is generated using the number of engineering options identified in the aircraft option database for the selected option.

Customer aircraft customization system

A control system for controlling a tiltable wheel truck of a main landing gear includes an auxiliary strut, a ground mode system operably connected with the aircraft for detecting and providing signals indicative of when the aircraft is on the ground; a takeoff mode system operably connected with the aircraft for detecting and providing signals indicative of when the aircraft is operating in a throttled-up mode; and an auxiliary strut control unit operably connected with the ground mode system, takeoff mode system, and auxiliary strut. The auxiliary strut control unit is operable to issue a lock-up command signal to the auxiliary strut upon detecting signals from the systems indicating that the aircraft is on the ground and that the aircraft is operating in a throttled-up mode, whereby the auxiliary strut is caused to lock up during a takeoff roll but is unlocked during other operating modes of the aircraft.

Control system and method for a semi-levered landing gear for an aircraft

An aircraft locking system (11) is provided that avoids inadvertent or deliberate operation of an aircraft exit opening means (50) during take-off roll, in-flight, or during landing. The aircraft locking system includes means for determining whether engines of the aircraft are running (12), means for determining thrust lever position (14), means for determining whether the aircraft is in an air mode or a ground mode (16), and means for determining whether a predetermined number of service/entry doors are closed (18). Means for generating a lock/unlock signal (32, 40) are responsive to the engine running determining means, the thrust lever position determining means, and the service/entry door-closed determining means.
