A scheduling method and apparatus in a wireless communication system. The scheduling method for a node B in a wireless communication system supporting a plurality of carriers includes determining a delay weight for each of a plurality of user equipment (UEs) according to a preset weight application time point. The method also includes determining a scheduling metric value of each UE per carrier using the delay weight, and determining a priority of each UE per carrier using the scheduling metric value.

Apparatus and method for scheduling in wireless communication system

An apparatus and method for measuring and reporting uplink load in a base station (BS) in a cellular mobile communication system are provided. The BS includes a rise over thermal (ROT) detector for measuring a ROT representing uplink load, and reporting information from which the ROT can be derived to a base station controller (BSC) via a standard interface. The ROT detector measures as background power the received power of the BS for a call-free period, the minimum of received power of the BS, or the minimum of received power of the BS measured for a predetermined time period. Then the ROT can be obtained by subtracting the background power from the received power of the BS.

Apparatus and method for measuring and reporting uplink load in a cellular mobile communication system

An apparatus and method for accurately measuring the thermal noise power of a silence period and increasing the control efficiency of reverse link load in a mobile communication system. In the received power measuring apparatus, a UPMB measures the received power of the reverse link, accumulates the measured received power, and outputs the accumulated received power as a received power value. A remover compensates the received power value using a time constant if the received power value is for a silence period. A controller provides a silence period signal to the remover when the silence period starts.

Apparatus and method for measuring thermal noise power in a mobile communication system

A system and method for supplemental channel (SCH) assignment control in a Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) mobile communication system. Upon request of a Mobile Station (MS) for a SCH, a maximum available data rate is determined which is less than a predetermined data threshold. The MS is notified of the determined maximum data rate. Thus, the SCH is assigned to the MS.
